Uzumaki (Manga) add
Uzumaki is Lovecraftian-Horror at its finest. Talk about one of the greatest works in the horror-medium, which really isn't talked about enough as it should be. Hopefully that will change with 'Toonami's' Uzumaki adaptation next year, but the basic premise is, Kirie and her boyfriend Shuuichi notice that the town they live in now has a strange obsession with spirals, and it becomes corrupted by them. The story is a hell of a lot more nuanced, and detailed, than that but it's the basic gist.

What REALLY drew me into this manga was the art-style. Junji Ito is a MASTER at showing off insanely grotesque ...

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a "normal" office-job worker married into an Otaku? Well, that's essentially the basics of this show. With less than an hour of runtime for this entire first season, 'I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying', is such an adorably cute and lovely show that I couldn't get enough of it. It's got great characters, and it's story is jampacked within such a short time frame that it's almost certainly worth a watch.
The Art-Style is minimal, and the story is pretty basic when compared to most other SOL anime, but it's just too damn charming and ...

Death Note (Anime) add
Preliminary (30/37 eps)
I'm going to be VERY critical for an 8/10 Review. And let me preface this by saying, I don't think this is a bad show. Or even a mediocre show. I still think its FANTASTIC. The first 26 episodes are chocked full of the most engaging mystery ever shown on Television. A one-of-a-kind cat and mouse chase. However, no spoilers, after Episode 26...I just couldn't convince myself the show is as captivating as it once was. Mello and Near are some of the most unenticing and unengaging characters I think I've seen in a mainstream anime. And not only did the characters fall after episode ...

Paprika (Anime) add
Truly a near-masterpiece.
Satoshi Kon is a visual genius. His work influences the likes of many modern-day artists, and directors. Paprika's dream world is a visual spectacle, and the way this story plays out is so FULL of surprises, twists, turns, and genuine revelations that'll have you dissecting this movie for years.
This movie rubbed its mark on even some of the greatest filmmakers in the world today, as it inspired Christopher Nolan's Inception.
Although, I do believe I need to give it a few more watches to truly grasp it, I'll stick to giving it a 9/10 as it can drag in a few parts. ...

This was a VERY light-hearted and cute OVA. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'd say, it's best to watch this special right after Ep. 11 of Season 1, as that is chronologically when it takes place in the story. And it is Canon.

The story is very mediocre, in comparison to every other episode, but its SO fun to get a breather from all the violence and have a lovely wholesome hour with these characters. This OVA is truly a testament to how well the characters have been built, as even with a nonchalant story I still love seeing them around. I definitely recommend ...
