Overall, this was a good series. Trying to avoid spoilers, I like the idea of the line between monster and humanity being blurred and the actions that need to be taken to preserve that line. It works especially well considering all of the previous story arcs.

Art style was consistently memorizing, a hallmark of the Monogatari series. About the same levels of ecchi fanservice as before. I feel like both are needed to keep the show interesting since it is essentially a series of long monologues or dialogues. Tsukimonogatari again achieves the right balance to make things interesting.

I watched it on Crunchyroll and am a little read more

An adaptation of the Earthsea novels done by Studio Ghibli sounds like a formula for success, which makes this film such an unfortunate disappointment.

The story relies heavily on the lore of the Earthsea novels without incorporating said lore into the narrative. First time watching this movie I was waiting for more exposition to explain what was going on, but never got the answers. It was confusing to just feel that there is a deeper backstory but not be told. I did develop a greater appreciation for the movie once I read the first Earthsea novel, which gave me all the exposition and lore I needed read more

I decided to watch this series after seeing a letsplay by Lost Pause for Persona5 and was curious at how well it would do compared to Persona4: the Animation. I have not played any of the Persona games, full disclaimer, so I can not compare whether this was a good adaptation of the game. Overall, this is a decent anime, and this review assumes you'll be watching the actual series prior to the specials.

The story and characters have to be summarized for a project of this nature, so there is a sense that a lot of the minor characters are sort of shoved into the read more

This is a ridiculous series, but what would you honestly expect from a show with a title like this? I honestly enjoyed the overall show, but I took issue with a few parts. I like the idea of the reverse isekai and the struggles of formerly powerful demon lords to merely survive in modern Japan. Then throw in an overzealous hero and a couple other cuckoos over the series and they all created some genuinely funny moments.

The problem I had was with the final villain. He was cheap cringe rather than good villain or a real threat.

Anyways, this was an overall decent series with a read more

My overall opinion of this series is that this is nice story with adorable and well rounded characters. I appreciate the focus on character development and attempting to rationalize demi-humans over sexualization and fan-service. While others may argue that it still occurs, when sexual topics were occasionally brought up, they were done a way that felt appropriate and organic to the narrative.
Having already read up to volume 6 of the English translation, I believe that this has been a faithful adaptation of the manga so far. I have to admit that when I heard about this adaptation, I was worried. As long as the creative read more

Overall, I found the series to be very enjoyable. It definitely has some very dark themes in the story's attempt to make low level fodder a serious threat again. To anyone unaware of the controversy of this series' use of sexual violence, you have been warned. Personally I felt that its use wasn't gratuitous, but understand if others choose to disagree.
The Sword Maiden and Cowgirl were typical fan service, and the former seemed a little over the top in her personality. I also enjoy how this series can create characters without ever giving them 'proper names.'
Anyways I especially enjoyed the focus on tactics and combat, read more

Following on the coattails of one of my favorite anime, this sequel season come pretty close to matching the what I loved about the first season of Birdy the Mighty Decode.
One of the things I loved about this season was that almost the entire plot was focused on the impact of the events of the previous finale. Too often it feels that the trauma of the past are covered up or ignored by the narrative's world, or used only for some personal crisis.
Here, the finale is shown to have an intergalactic impact that drives characters forward in the plot, and it shows the many types read more

I found Birdy the Mighty through S.A.V.E. so I wasn't expecting very much from this series. I also wasn't expecting much with a premise about a high school boy sharing bodies with a hot alien super cop. Now I am so glad that I decided to buy this series and hope more people seek it out in the future.
I was expecting loads of fan service, but that was kept to a relative minimum. I found the story to be decently paced and the characters to be developed well. The fight scenes were well done and overall the animation was nice. I have a few issues read more
