Horimiya is the type of manga that, whether you enjoy the romance genre or not, will at least convey some form of emotion in you. Plenty of manga/ anime out there are able to throw comedy in with romance but sometimes I find myself cringing to how awful certain jokes can be. Horimiya is able to mix these two elements near flawlessly. It's also able to mix in the serious of times in perfectly allowing the perfect blend of what any romance manga needs.

I think what really sets Horimiya apart is the characters. It's very clearly shown who the main characters are, Hori and Miyamura. read more

Harem series have always been up for debate. Very few tend to exceed many of the audience's expectations unless they either haven't seen many harems in the first place or they just don't mind some of the glaring flaws and ever present stereotypes.

Yet Grim Reaper and Four Girlfriends did exceed my expectations. It starts off amazing and builds itself off of that amazing premise yet it fails to give a sense of closure. I would have given the story an 9 but the ending and open ended plot holes left a bad taste that I had to drop it to a 7. Other than that read more

My ideal romance manga(of the little that I have taken to actually finish) is simple. 2 characters and a whole bunch of unique cast of supports. Nisekoi was one of my favorites for a while as even though the plot was litterly one of the worst with a horrible MC and predictable ending, I still enjoyed it for the comedy and for what it was. Then came Juliet of Boarding School(Side note: What kind of title is that???).

The one-shot was alright, not bad, not good, but not much you actually can do when your limited to,well, a one-shot. Still i liked it. Then came read more

Rakudai is an ongoing series I'll Focus on vol 1-12(Selection Battle arc, Seven Stars Sword Art Festival arc, part of the Vermillion Empire arc).

At its core, Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan is an excellent light novel series. Following the formula of a typical "teenagers in a battle high school", the series has much more to offer than what is initially seen. Past the ever-present fan service and......uh...."profound" pictures, where Rakudai really stands out( in my opinion) is in its characters of all things.

Take the main male lead, Ikki. Unlike that of the sterotypical, Ikki isn't unbeatable simply cause he's the mc, rather he trains(and continues to) read more

At the time of this review I have only read the first 18 chapters as this manga is on-going.

Happy Sugar Life is excellent. If you don't know anything about it, I'd say its one of those mangas where you should probably go into it without knowing anything, similar to GakkouGurashi and of the like. Just know it isn't for the faint of heart.

The story is based mostly on the mindset of the characters. Looking seemingly innocent at first, all of the cast(of the very few there is) has at least something screwed up about them. The 2 MCs are of an popular girl and her read more

The original tv series was probably my favorite harem series of 2014. That's saying a lot cause that year we got great series like Date a Live 2, Fruit of Grisaia, Nisekoi, etc. Trinity Seven probably has one of the best MCs around, followed by one of the best harems. Then they announced a movie.

Well for one, Eternity Library didn't feel like a movie. 55 min? Add in the fact that the first and last 5 min is a summary and credits. Then came a good chunk of fan service. Really it was was a little too short.

Then they added in a new character. read more
