Evil or Live

In prison (Rainbow) or prison-like conditions (In Evil or Live, the children are sent to an "Elite Reeducation Academy" (aka a "corrections" school where the classes are grueling drills and the food is abhorrent) for their internet addiction), the people are treated harshly by the overseers. Rainbow is a much more comradery anime with a leader uniting everyone together, whereas Evil or Live has a power dynamic/struggle within the school -- with both students and instructors. Rainbow is done much better than Evil or Live, though.

To be honest, they just remind me of each other. They do both have historical and mythological contexts with supernatural powers. And the mc's in both hold a strong power, especially in Amatsuki where people fight over him. They're different in how Amatsuki is an isekai (mc is on a history field trip when he suddenly gets teleported to the actual city). And the mc's have different personalities will the mc of Amatsuki being on the gentler and kinder side, while the mc of Hakkenden has a little bit of ego.

Gourmet, Slice of Life and Iyashikei (healing), childcare, and a girl with a romantic interest in the male lead. They both have similar vibes in my opinion. Neither shows are story-driven, I would say, but are just slow-paced gourmet slice of life shows. However, I would say the characters aren't similar. In Sweetness and Lightning, the main character is a single father who is employed as a teacher and struggles to cook for his daughter. He meets Kotori, a student in his school, who's mother owns a restaurant, but is often away due to appearing on TV. The show mainly revolves around him and Kotori cooking recipes that Kotori's mother gives them with splashes of cuteness from the daughter. In Deaimon, the main character's family runs a sweets shop. He quits his band and comes back home after hearing his father was hospitalized, thinking to become the successor. However, on his return, he learns that his father was fine, and his family has taken in an abandoned child, Itsuka, who is also the successor to the shop. The mc is tasked with being a father figure to Itsuka. With a rocky start, as Itsuka, being a diligent worker and strivings to be independent and mature for her age, dislikes the mc believing him to be lazy and irresponsible. However, as the show continues, their relationship grows. The child in Deaimon is more on the mature side, with her childish innocence showing every so often. However, the child in Sweetness and Lightning is much more "childlike." I have also only seen a few episodes of both shows, but so far, the main cast of Deaimon seems much wider, and the show is not just focused on the mc's relationship with Itsuka, like Sweetness and Lightning is with his daughter and Kotori.
