It has passed.
Florete Oct 10, 2016 2:52 AM
Not quite! You got the month right, though.
Florete Sep 9, 2016 12:52 AM
It's not even time travel in Fates. I'll explain how it works under the spoiler in case you don't want to know yet:

While I understand why people didn't like how it was done in Awakening, it at least made logical sense there and was directly connected to the plot. Fates just...yikes.
Florete Sep 9, 2016 12:20 AM
People have compared Fates to Pokemon before, but I don't think it's very similar. Pokemon game pairs are all the same basic experience with only small differences, while the different Fates routes are completely unique experiences. Some people are still mad about it for whatever reason, but I think they completely justified selling the versions separately. For the price of two games, you get the content of almost three ("almost" because there is a bit of shared content).

Lol, if you think marriage/children was pushed too much in Awakening, Fates is gonna have you bashing your head against a wall. The whole thing doesn't even make sense, though you can at least completely avoid it if you just don't have anyone get married. Or you can do the gay marriage. No kids there.

I hate to disappoint you...but they really dropped the ball on Fates' story. All three routes are just so horribly written. I would honestly say even Awakening was better in this regard, and I didn't think highly of Awakening's story. They clearly had ambition, especially for Conquest, but the execution is dreadful. Still, the gameplay mechanics are all vastly improved from Awakening, the character balance (in Conquest/Birthright) is really good, the map designs are much more inspired...basically everything about the raw gameplay is an improvement.

Ya know, somehow I thought you'd seen more than you apparently have. I must have been thinking of someone else.

Did you play Fates at all? I find it has the best gameplay in the series, but the worst story. It's funny how on complete opposite ends of the spectrum those two aspects of it are.

I don't watch nearly as much as I used to, but it's enough to keep me around. On a whim, I've started re-watching Aikatsu. It's a pretty special series to me and I just had a sudden urge to experience it again...even though it's kind of still going.

Incidentally, I started posting a bit on SF again just a few days ago. I'm not nearly as active as I once was, though.

26. Ooh. Just typing it gives me the shivers.
Florete Sep 7, 2016 2:27 PM
And I'm reaching ages I don't even want to mention. Eugh...

What brought you back to MAL?
Florete Sep 6, 2016 6:02 PM
Hello again. Just the same old me. What's up?
Florete Mar 18, 2016 5:19 PM
It's no surprise you didn't know. I didn't mean to keep it secret, but I never exactly announced it to anyone. It kind of just happened, and we moved on from there pretty silent about the whole matter.

I can agree, to an extent. I've stated on more than one occasion how much I dislike seeing old posts from 2008/2009 because of how stupid I was, but it remains true that we were a pretty chill, tight-knit community back then, and it would be a lie to say I don't have any fond memories from then. It's not the same now, hasn't been for a long time, and while that isn't a bad thing in itself, we can't all stick around forever.
Florete Mar 18, 2016 2:47 PM
For the record, I didn't leave for any negative reasons, like I came to hate the community or something. Nothing like that. It just felt like it was time for me to go.

For a moment I wondered what "happened" that you were talking about, then I realized you must be talking about the breakup (I kinda forgot that I'd even mentioned it to someone recently). Thank you for your concern, but that doesn't have anything to do with me leaving SF. It's been almost two years now since that and while it was pretty hard on me when it happened, I really am over it now.

I'm fine. The resignation was also my departure from the forums.
Antinomy May 29, 2015 11:16 AM
It's alright haha
