The profile page rebuild is coming along nicely, but isn't quite done evolving yet. I still need to find the right colours for the anime listings in order to avoid eye strain while keeping to the theme, but almost everything is in place and it just needs tweaking followed by filling in. CSS for my list is still completely broken and I'm going back to the drawing board about what kind of theme I want to do for it.
About Me
Hello, and welcome to my profile page! If you've bothered to actually read this, you must either be someone I know, or very bored. If you're curious to learn more about me, the important stuff will follow. I'm a ageing, grouchy weeaboo who hails from the fair shores of the Pacific Northwest, but now lives in rural England with family, where the rent is cheap and I can work on my latest book. I've been an anime fan for over 20 years now, starting with some bootleg VHS copies of Ranma 1/2 back in the late 90's. I continued to watch over the years, but with a limited selection I rarely got my hands on new shows or movies; it's only in the last couple of years that free time, financial security and high-speed internet have all aligned in such a way that I've been able to freely watch all the anime I want. The end result of this is that I'm now watching more than ever before, indulging in large numbers of seasonals and trying to catch up on all the classics I missed over the years. My Plan to Watch list is greater than the heavens and I'm always looking for excuses to prioritise some show over another, so I'm always open to suggestions from people.

Rating System:
My rating system is relatively strict and handled via a spreadsheet tracker. I take the time to review what I'm watching and rate it out of 10 in 16 different categories. An overall score is taken from a weighted average of these categories, with a heavy bias towards enjoyment value. For my entry in MAL, I take this score and round it to the nearest whole number. I've refined this process enough that I've almost never found a disagreement between what I think something should be rated and how my spreadsheet rated it, so I'm feeling fairly confident that it's a good expression of my feelings. But honestly, I just like playing with numbers! If you are wondering briefly what my thoughts on each rating number are, you can see examples below:
WIP
10 - Masterpiece - A work of this level has achieved extremely high levels of quality in every respect. I enjoy everything about it and will obsessively feel the need to rewatch it in order to enjoy it again. (Ex: Puella Magi Madoka Magica) 9 - Great - A series like this is great in almost every respect, but carries significant enough flaws that I can't overlook them. I will frequently feel like rewatching a series at this level. (Ex: Land of the Lustrous, Ouran High School Host Club, Welcome to the NHK!) 8 - Very good - A series at this level is either great but flawed, or very good in all areas without dramatically standing out. I might rewatch a series like this occasionally, but I don't feel highly motivated to do so. (Ex:Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Kill la Kill, Your Lie in April) 7 - Good - A series which is quite enjoyable but has plenty of problems. It might excel in an area or two but more often is just above average across the board. I rarely rewatch these. (Ex: Death Note, Hunter x Hunter [2011], Parasyte) 6 - Fine - An entertaining show, but ultimately lacking in quality or deeply flawed in some way as to hold it back. These are fun but average, and I almost never rewatch these. (Ex: Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) 5 - Average - A mediocre series is either lacking in quality across the board and thus boring, or carries some deep flaws which prevent the experience from being totally enjoyable. At this level, shows aren't disliked per se, they just don't stand out as being good. (Ex: Aldnoah.Zero, Gravitation, GATE) 4 - Bad - A bad series is either sub-par in every respect, or has a significant flaw which overrides the series' pros and makes it unpleasant to watch. At this level, shows are either extremely boring or outright irritating, and I have little respect left for them. (Ex: Code Geass, Eromanga Sensei, Kantai Collection) 3 - Very Bad - While Bad series can sometimes be forgivable, at this point a series' overall quality has dropped beyond boring or irritating and has become outright anger-inducing. At this level, bad quality can usually be found across the board, with glaring, unforgivable flaws that ruin the entire experience. (Ex: Dragon Ball GT, Genma Taisen, Kuma Miko) 2 - Horrible - At this stage, a series has wrapped around again and has become so bad in every respect that it's starting to become funny. A series of this level usually has no redeeming qualities, and is a mess from start to finish in every area. (Ex: Aki-Sora, Garzey's Wing, Mars of Destruction) 1 - Appalling - It stopped being funny again. Something at this level is so bad in every respect that it's astonishing it exists. I find it difficult to believe that this got approved, made, and then someone looked at the final product and was okay with releasing it. (Ex: Abunai Sisters)

Yeah i also dont like to drop shows unless absolutely necessary, but these days i have started to realize its better to start dropping some otherwise i will be missing out all the quality shows.
I am mainly excited for AoT s3, Steins;Gate 0, hopefully they don't screw up the adaptations.
Yeah its nice to have some variety in what you watch. Even though i have seen only about 1/4th of the anime you have watched, i still get burned out sometimes.
Any shows u looking forward to this spring?
