This will be similar to my preliminary anime review because of recency bias.
Story - 3
The story is the premise and that's it. It's a great, fun premise so I'm not complaining. I've given it a low score because there isn't enough to call a story, and the events - at least initially - don't clearly occur in any particular order.
After some chapters, something unexpected happens in the story - which is quite enjoyable. During it and afterward, the events do clearly happen in order.
Art - 10
The art is great. It's one of the best parts. In particular, I like how for all chapters, it is ... monochrome in the first pages, and then it's myrichrome (myriad) in the main page. The contrast really adds to the enjoyment.
Enjoyment - 10
I've sung it enough praises in the art section, I can't muster up any more.
Overall - 10
For a work in the short format, this is amazing.

This really is just a setup for the second season.

Latter half of this isn't as good as the first half, especially the episode all about a character no one cares about.

It's not as emotional as it was trying so hard to be, but it is very appealing visually which made it stand out among the anime in its season.

The music is also one of its stronger points.

The story seems interesting though not much happens throughout, leaves to be desired.

... There aren't that many interesting characters now that i think back on it, just a few were actually interesting.

Oh yeah, i don't know if it's just me but i was laughing every time the guy with pink hair was on screen - it was just hilarious, he's this psychopathic evil dude but i can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it. Which reminds me, he shouldn't be so emotionally expressive, and it's something they never explain.

Even though it's a disappointment, i hope it gets an animated sequel because i somewhat liked it overall.

This is the worst experience i've had with an anime from 2017, also, my first review. I did not rewatch it, i just finished doing so, can't bring myself to do it again.
I had such a terrible experience i could not help but bring myself to write this. I recommend you to check it out for yourself, though.

For now, i'll talk about the positives first.

It is technically well done in pretty much every area.
The visuals are fantastic. This is by far the best 3D anime i've seen. It's JoJo's Part 1-3 OPs or ArcSystem works level of quality we're talking ... about.
The animation is also great, despite my experience, the action moments were the parts i could enjoy the most because they were so well done.
Camerawork's also very good - they didn't overdo it with wacky movements because of the 3D environment, like Berserk did. When it does that, it does so well because it's not so extreme.
The music and sounds are fantastic, they are by far the part of this i enjoyed the most aside from animation and visuals.
Speaking of which, both the OP/ED songs are good and fit well with the visuals, though i wish the OP's visuals meant more - it is a bit generic. The ED has got more to offer in that regard.

Plot devices, plot holes, bad explanations for things. The story is the thing i had the most problem with, and it's what pissed me off the most.
I saw a review and it said the story is up to interpretation. If that's the best thing you can tell me about it, then you are really stretching - just like Phos arms.
I also find the pacing to be bad, either that or i am just incredibly shaken by what happens through episodes 1 and 8, then 9.
In the first episodes i thought Cinnabar was going to be the love interest of the main character, while this didn't have any impact on my enjoyment of the show (not much), i felt like i should write it down.
The exposition gets kinda bad sometimes, at least i felt so. Could've been done better. Also, the repeating of lines gets annoying when it happens, it is not necessary.
Another thing, some characters' backgrounds were introduced (or entire characters themselves) in very awkward moments. Especially at the end, when that happens thrice or twice.
Can't write spoilers, but i'll just say the main character is very unlikeable, and does pretty much nothing throughout all those episodes.
The characters are a bit too similar. Neck down they are all visually the same, the only different ones are the guy, the medic, Phos, and another character on ep 11. They wear the same clothes, have the same height, have no variation in the chest area, have long legs, and all of them have firm butts. Yes, you read that right - just look and you'll understand what i mean. Their faces look great, though. Especially the hair and eyes. Very pleasing to look at.
Oh yes, they also don't get a lot of development. Which kinda ties in with the problems in the last episodes. I guess their interactions are comical? I did not manage to laugh much after the first three episodes, so i can't say their attempts worked.

The best episodes were by far the last 4, though it's not saying much. The main character actually did things, instead of having things done to.

Something i had a big problem with: the allusions to self-harm, depression and... Effort in general, in this anime are weird, which is what happens in the first 8 episodes, and i don't know where the hell they were doing with that. I don't think it went quite well.

Despite my experience, overall it really is not as bad as i made it sound at the beginning. I couldn't bring myself to enjoy most of it, i tried. Though, i liked the rest of it. Anything that didn't involve the useless main character before ep 9 i enjoyed.
Overall it's technically well done and the last episodes aren't as bad as the others.

I do understand how people can like this, it's pretty good, i just had a massive problem with the main character throughout it. Too big of a problem, really.

I'm coming off of this with a hopeful look towards the future, i hope it gets a second season and that it's miles better than this. Though, I'm already on the ride anyway, so it's not like i can help and do anything else.
