This is my first review ... so bare with me as im typing this all on spot off the top of my head
The series has come to an end and what an end it was. Upon the end of GX the world got a glimpse of the new era of YGO and its safe to say we all had our doubts about card games being played on motorcycles.
You start the story off with our not so young protagonist Fudo Yusei who appears to be in the outskirts of the city, Neo Domino City, the outskirts was know as Satelittle. After being betrayed by his former
friend Jack Atlus, Yusei builds a D-Whell from scratch and aims to break through into Neo Domino City to take back his stolen Stardust Dragon the card which at the time was said to have held all the hopes and dreams of their friends in the Satelittle.
Afterwards everything is pretty cliche, a new enemy appears and Yusei aims to defeat them however through out each arc the bonds between him and anyone he makes positive relations with is stressed greatly and not in a "Our friendship can make us do anything" sort of relationship but more of a sense of support between him and everyone they might to do their best
This is the first YGO series to be animated in HD, visually i thought it was amazing though i could have done without some 3D animations in some scenes involving the main Dragons, it was something that was easily overlooked.
The 5D's OST is simply amazing and gets your heart racing, just look up themes such as "Yuseis Battle" or "Unleashed Force" and youll see
The main protagonist was a much more mature character compared to previous heros Yugi and Judai, alot of people always clinged to Yugi for being the original King of Games but Yusei had that mature sense of mind and was always calm and collected throughout all of his hardships. Then you had the Seto Kaiba of the show Jack Atlus who was the most self centered character of the series, but of course every series needs one.
Riding Duels have really liven up the way duels were played in the show, instead of both players just standing across each other drawing cards you have the characters riding whatever course theyre on whether it be an offcial route made by the city or a random duel in the outskirts of the Satelittle, the entire world was their duel field.
