I guess that Slice-of-Life content makes the scary and brutal content more substantial and impactful.

Do you read books? Visual novels are pretty much books with pictures (though it depends, the majority of them are, but some VNs have a relatively extensive gameplay if I know correctly; Danganronpa is one of them)

Interesting, you don't believe in making online friends?

Vn is like 50 hours of Sol comedy and 5 hours of cool stuff
Hm, interesting, I wonder if that's true

it's normal here, lol.
Wow, cool! I love how Georgia doesn't give fuck about Russia like Armenia and Azerbaijan do (they use Russian social media, though at least Azerbaijan also uses Facebook).
So, is it okay if we move our conversations there?

I guess that's also why you didn't choose the highest rated of them all: the visual novel (on vndb, it's in top 10-20 there). Because it's the longest to get through as far as I know.

Wait, is it normal in Georgia to use Facebook as the main social media / messenger platform?

A big part of Higurashi's amazingness is the atmosphere: the directing, the sound. The first season made me feel very interesting emotions, including discomfort and despair, it was like being in a brutal hell. (I can't say anything about the second season because you haven't gotten to that part yet). That's why the manga is maybe inferior to the anime and the visual novel, but I have only watched the anime, so I don't know. That said, the writing is fucking incredible in a few ways, and it's slow I guess? On the other hand, the characters don't seem to be super complex and I don't recall there's being much substance in Higurashi, so if you went in expecting that, you're not going to get much out of Higurashi I guess? I would say Higurashi is first and foremost an experience (I mean, you could say that about virtually anything I guess, hahaha). Btw, this all is coming from a person who's really scared of and hence hates live-action horror, but Higurashi is completely different (and animanga horror in general is different compared to live-action horror?).

What other chatting platforms do you use other than MAL then?

Hahahaha, that's the exact reason I did that of course! I actually just wanted to write you a message, lol, great minds think alike! It's been a while since we last talked! Only like seven months? It feels like it's been more than a year at least! Do you have a Discord?

but i understanded most stuff that was going on
That's great! Good job!

Perfet blue is actually not that hard to understand
Yeah, I mostly agree, the hard part of Perfect Blue is to understand and sort out what scenes were real, what scenes were not, who (the MC or not) actually was participating in the real scenes.

directing is kool af, nice imaginary, had pretty kool themes too

only anime that creeped me out
I can totally understand why

I guess i'm burned out because I can't stand japanese anymore

I don't think paranoia agent was intellectual
Yeah, I think Satoshi Kon's works are not super intellectual (Perfect Blue is maybe by far the most intellectual one), it's more like his directing makes the story convoluted (I don't think that's a bad thing at all, I love to think, after all), his works are way more accesible to wider audiences than Lain or Mamoru Oshii's works, for example.

So, it's time for me to finally answer to your opinion about Elfen Lied and Paranoia Agent from the 25th of February.

It seems you approach Paranoia Agent and other avant-garde, intellectual anime the same way you approach "normal" anime. Like, you're looking for a story to be told, for characters to get attached to, for the plot to hook you. But non-conventional art, anime in our case, generally doesn't follow the usual path and if it does, it does it in a completely different way. So maybe you need to change your mindset or smth when watching that kind of anime? Interestingly enough, you did like Perfect Blue and fucking Lain (I'm still surprised you liked them, especially Lain). Why do you think you like them while generally not liking that kind of anime?

And your words about Elfen Lied and your recent ratings look like you're burnt out :( Everything seems boring, you don't care for any characters. I have experienced this before quite a lot of times, though my burnouts were way shorter than yours. Maybe you should try like extremely plot-driven stuff? But again, I presume if one doesn't care about the characters, one won't really care about the story, about the stuff that's happening to those characters.
