I think in order to have a successful "sad" anime, you have to do a really good job in investing the viewer in its characters.
While I did like the characters, I had no attachment or investment in them at all. They kinda just expect you to feel attached to these characters just because they're "best friends" and honestly because of all the sad anime/drama I have seen this anime did nothing special to make it stand out. I felt like I was watching another tragedy with a very predictable ending.

If this didn't feature talking bipedal animals, this honestly could be one of the best slice of life animes (of the new generation of anime)
It's quite a hurdle getting over the animal thing. Personally, I worked on my art while listening to it in the background so that helped me to get over it. Once you get over the talking animals things this is actually a good story with important themes and feelings that slice of life anime rarely (if ever) touch on. It features super relatable and likable characters. I think it's worth it to brave the animal thing. I did and I don't regret ...

It's a terrible movie haha.
It feels like it was literally created as a challenge cause it was one thing after another. Absolutely no chill. Image after image. This movie is about child abuse/ rape so definitely deserves to be banned. However, I believe this movie exists because someone, somewhere out there lived this kind of life and that is a sad truth. Nobody wants to see it or talk about it but this stuff happens. So while I felt disgusted and horrified watching the movie, I also felt like it is a childs story that kinda needs to be heard. But there is definitely more ...

Absolutely recommend this manga..
The art is obvious. Literally every single panel was a work of art. It's one of those stories that was so well put together. It was poetic and beautiful in every step of the journey that's why I was hooked enough to read all 327 chapters in less than a week. lol! I mean it's loosely based off a novel and true history so that likely a huge reason the story is so well put together. My criticisms other than hiatus: Technically none.
