If you're into horror and psychological I'd recommend watching School-Live!. Don't be fooled by the beginning of the first episode, it may seem like some girly school drama but, well, you'll see xD. If you'd like to try something different maybe check out some sci-fi with Steins;Gate. It starts off slow however after the first 5 episodes it evolves into one of the greatest anime ever created.
Maybe also check out some romance: I'd recommend Clannad: After Story. There's a prequel, Clannad, however you don't actually need to watch that to watch After Story. After Story is probably one of the most emotional anime I've ever watched, it'll make you cry like a baby. The story is amazing and the characters are great however some people don't like the art style.
I haven't ran into any mean people yet. I used to get on Meetme a lot but nowadays no way too many fakes and they don't talk back with you. it's just lame
