If your taste does not match my ratings, we are happy to talk about it and possibly find new views. Discussions are always possible. I already have enough salt at home, so I can do it without more.
I'm 25 years old at the moment (God help me) and have been watching anime since I was 10. I wouldn't consider myself an anime fan as I have no real passion for it. I enjoy anime as much as I enjoy regular movies and series. Unless it's ecchi anime, then I'm dying a bit inside. My taste has changed significantly over the years. I used to really celebrate every anime and give out 10 * reviews like chewing gum at school. I am now much more critical of reviews. However, I am not an elitist and do not give bad reviews just because a work has enormous hype. I just try to analyze it as objectively as possible, as far as I can.
I also rate works according to their genre. You can't ask a comedy to have a story or depth of character. One has to take this into account. There are many people who simply rate comedy anime 3/10 and say it has no story or characters. It's like looking for hot peppers in a strawberry cake, it just doesn't exist.
I just write reviews as a kind of hobby, I kind of enjoy it and I've been doing it for years. As soon as I have finished a work, I analyze it for positive and negative aspects and evaluate it accordingly. The ratings are therefore not predominantly 1: 1 my actual taste. There were works that I rated well but didn't particularly like. Or works that I saw as my personal preferences and still had to give them a low rating due to the quality.
Likewise, I don't think that an anime is automatically bad just because its ratings don't blow up.
My evaluation standards are currently as follows -
1⭐Disaster. To go down that far, you have to make one mistake after another without making up for it with positive points.
2⭐Not worth seeing. A work that failed in almost every area.
3⭐Weak. Such series have almost nothing to speak of, but you can still watch them somehow.
4⭐ Below average. Titles that have a lot of wasted potentials.
5⭐ Average. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
6⭐Series that can be called "above average" through their implementation.
7⭐Very interesting series that cannot be at the top, but are very well remembered.
8⭐Great anime that stands out from the crowd. They are lacking in some areas, but these works will never be forgotten.
9⭐ An unparalleled top title in every aspect. Will stand above almost all other works in the future and many will talk about them.
10⭐A title that could come closest to the "word" masterpiece. Such works are almost flawed and have shown great quality in every area.
