Patema Inverted basically has the exact same script, but is compacted to be 27 minutes shorter. Both films focus on a young love between a human boy and princess from another world, both have an evil organization that wants to capture the girl while the main character enlists help from unlikely allies to save her, both films have the same climax "collapse", and the main character has a lost father who was an explorer.

Accel World
add

A young boy unpopular at school gets chosen by an incredibly sexy girl attracted to him into joining her specific clan and proving his skills as part of her party as they grow stronger and stronger and recruit more members fighting against other clans and dickish villains. The difference is that in Accel World everything is about a video game, whereas Highschool DxD is about a world of Devils, Angels and Fallen Angels. There's also lighter T&A in Accel World than DxD but it still exists

Alice to Zouroku
add

Both shows involve cute girls with some sort of magic power being experimented on by scientists in a lab, in addition to slice of life moments with other characters in a house. The two plots collide in interesting ways, though while Elfen Lied takes on a very dark tone, Alice to Zouroku embraces the happiness of its characters and their powers

Ergo Proxy

Rakuen Tsuihou
add

Both series feature a futuristic setting, an organization controlled by talking statues, and a guy and girl travelling across a desolate land to accomplish some goal while learning more about themselves. Proxy chooses to focus more on the psychosis of the characters and what leads them to become who they are, while Expelled from Paradise opts for a traditional approach of blaming the future society.
