What can I say... you really dig the right stuff, man. Of course I'm into Jan Svankmajer, there's a song titled after his name in my album Anthems To Autism. From the names you listed, I've never seen any Toshio Matsumoto, Raoul Ruiz, Kenneth Anger or Maya Deren. I must watch the sequel films to Tetsuo The Iron Man, one of my favorite movies. I'm into all that jap cinema. Madness and demented people is like fanservice for me. And japanese actors don't need a big effort to act like weird psychos. I love that. Last one I watched was Pastoral. And probably my favorite japanese movie is Hausu. You know, I like this colored and random, ridiculous material. This kind of thing inspires me a lot. Movies like Dandy Dust, Forbidden Zone, Liquid Sky [best OST ever], Sanatorium Pod Klepsydra, Stephen Sayadian's stuff, Jodorowsky [my favorite director besides Jan Svakmajer], The Red Shoes... My current avatar comes from Yasuzô Masumura's Blind Beast. I'm following you at Letterboxd now, still gotta watch Ugetsu and The Tin Drum. I will have fun with this poetic cinema list. I've seen enough stuff like that but I never crossed most of the titles there. Lynch is kinda hype now, but I discovered his work by myself when I was a kid, no internet or fans making fuzz, so I fell in love with his world, since I love random humor and the "dream" subject. Are you facebook? I can send you the link for the horror/avant-garde movie I did the soundtrack. Yah, Clovk DVA is good. I can recc you tons of surreal/avantgarde music if you like. Thanks for the reccomendations too. I'm always looking for new stuff. Though I have too much to catch up with, and will always do. The more I watch, more my watchlist grows. Also I haven't been watching so many films since my wife doesn't like my exaggerated tastes on surrealism and low quality. She likes David Lynch, Cronenberg... this level of surrealism. Last year I watched tons of TV series, actually still watching. Mainly clever black comedy as Larry David, Monty Python and Ricky Gervais. I probably love everything produced by these guys. People are really dumb and stupid, and they throw up these facts on their faces.

Nice taste on everything, my friend. I've been working on surreal film soundtracks. Also, if you like LoGH that much, try Dougram. Tell me about your taste in psych/avant/surreal movies and music.

No problem, its rare to see people on the site with similar taste to me, the least I can do is spread some positivity. Ah yes Tetsuo the Ironman. I haven't seen that in quite a while. I really wanted to revisit some of the older Japanese classics in general. I was quite taken with Tetsuo though, reminded me a lot of early Cronenberg... there's something disturbing about body horror that other genres can't quite replicate. If you have any more recommendations throw them my way. I'm always looking for stuff to read and watch.
