Please note: the volumes are only 80pages short, but the price is the same as normal volumes. You pay full price for half the amount of pages. Kodansha, I want answers! I want the truth! lol. I don't even care, just worth pointing out.
Story: A teenage girl is asked for selfies, and the guy is making more and more demands. She wants to refuse, but still goes along with it. Frankly, I can't see this in a entertaining way. I just want to yell at the girl to stop being such a pushover. And the build up to the situations of sending selfies is too
...
rushed. It's rarely showing any conversation or background for anything that happen, just jump straight to the sexy poses and embarrassed expressions. And it's boring that the male character that asks for selfies ends up tracing the photos for his manga, thus showing us a manga within a manga just for the sake of proving that the selfies are not demanded for a perverted reason.
It's funny that the excuse for the selfies is that a guy says "I need it for my manga". It makes me think, did the creator of this manga ask high-school girls for selfies, also saying that it's just for manga research?
Art: The manga has too many color pages... If you like color manga it might be for you, because it's almost entirely color... I hate to say, the main heroine is indeed beautiful, but the coloring... The backgrounds are shitty though.
Overall: I believe that the only way this manga is allowed to be published is because the guy demanding selfies is a nerd. After all, if a normal guy asks a teenage girl for sexy selfies, it's sexual harassment. If a otaku asks for sexy selfies, it's just research for a manga. Making it absolutely acceptable.
Finally. What disappointed me the most is the fact that it's a manga about making manga. It's not even a rom-com... It's just a creepy nerd asking for material to gratify himself.

The protagonist is slowly bleeding to death after an accident, and someone decides to pull out a phone to record it. And honestly, that's how it works in the 2020's. Recording something "interesting" is like a reflex for people. Who cares if the dying person dislikes being recorded? He's gonna be dead by the time you upload the video.
The author took the "death and resurrection" beginning of an isekai story and turned it into a mirror of the ugly reality we all live in today.
Story: It's not a very original story. A fantasy world with dungeons, adventurers and levels. Slave x Protagonist. The typical
...
things are all here. But the world building is done in such a way that it has a nice feel to it. It feels similar to "Grimgar". A very serious world, set up to be unforgiving and make people struggle for survival. Early volumes has no actual plot. It's simply about trying to stay alive... I like fantasy, and the author took a mainstream theme to make it interesting enough for me to want to read more. It's nothing new and yet it stands out from the rest. I like it, because unlike most isekai stories it's not too fast moving. We have time to start liking the characters and just learn more about the world.
Art: I would say the art is surprisingly normal. It's good at adapting for the feeling of the story, the more serious scenes can look disturbing and gross, and then during the more slice-of-life scenes the art is cute and simple. Even then, the art is never especially good. Shades is the biggest down side, it looks a bit too monotone at times.
Characters: The protagonist and his slave girl has the typical mentality. "I want world peace and for everyone to be happy." And even though I don't like those type of Naruto-esque characters, I still enjoy these two. There's nothing to really complain about, except for the age difference. The girl is 9 years old, the protagonist is 17. As long as they stay just friends, it's a cute pair of characters. It is easy to like them, because the story gives a lot of details and spends the time to make them likable. The best characteristic is that (just like Naruto) the protagonist sometimes becomes crazy and loses his mind, sometimes leading to brutally murdering the bad guys. And that's quite nice, considering he is usually a pacifist.
Overall. I like this story. The humor is kept to a minimum, but funny scenes still pop up throughout the series. The world is really dark, but there's not too much exaggerated drama. The story has a good pacing and it's a very open story, there's is no "goal" to go after, it's just about survival. The less enjoyable things are the use of flashbacks, and the fact that we have a possible pedophile as a protagonist. As long as the manga stays away from romance between the main characters, it's a good manga with a rarely seen darkness.

This manga is about rock festivals.... for kids. It's still good, but it's not the good old "alcohol, sex, and rock'n roll" festivals.
Story: The story is pretty straight forward. The main characters are either planning to go to a festival, or they are already at one. It's simple, yet surprisingly entertaining. And the thing that makes it interesting is seeing the difference between the first-timer, and the veterans. I like this story, but any readers that have no interest in music festivals will get bored, probably. With the fact that the manga is "only" 5 volumes, it's a nice and compact story that is short
...
enough to end before it becomes repetitive.
The only thing this story lacks, is the sex appeal. When two men in their 20's goes to a rock festival and drink beer, they usually try to find some girls. Then again, maybe I'm the one that has been spending too little time on the music when I go to rock festivals... lol
Characters: There's two sets of characters that the story follows. The par of cute teenage girls. And the two men in their 20's. Both sides are enjoyable in different ways. But all the characters are well made and do seem relatable to the readers. Although there's no big originality to the characters, I still like them.
Overall, it's a nice slice-of-life story. The art is good enough to convey the feelings of the story, it's a light and easy going art style. The festivals themselves are well made and certainly seems like fun. Along with the chemistry of the characters it's a well made story. I like slice of life, and festival, so for me it's double the fun.

The cat's balls is shown so much that I'm starting to think that this manga was created for female felines.
Story: The cat has several different owners throughout the series. And the story changes pretty drastically every time a new cat owner / protagonist takes over. I loved the first, got bored at the second, and finally hated the last owner's story. Even though it's a short story, we have plenty of drama involving weak minded women and psychotic children to make it feel like Zombies isn't the biggest problem you can have.
Art: The art is not bad, but it's rough. Like the Attack on Titan
...
style, rough lines, questionable shadowing and facial expressing that lack details. The animals are cute, but the humans and zombies are generally subpar.
Characters: Most of the characters were likable. But unfortunately, they switch out the characters too much and increases the drama as the stories go on. In other words, the characters are more and more mentally unstable as the story moves on. Starts with Amazing characters, Turns into Generic and Acceptable. Ends with Horrific and exaggerated ones.
Overall: The cat is the MacGuffin. It doesn't really do anything in the story. It's simply a reason to be able to show so many different perspectives. Since it's a short manga (just one omnibus volume) it's a good way to make it interesting. The plot is still pretty boring though.

Why is a almost-forty year old woman blushing when holding hands with her boyfriend? It's so cringe...
Story: I loved the story at first, finding your one true love from a past life. But the story has a surprisingly low amount of dating and "slice of life" chapters. Since the two people already know and love each other, there's almost no build up for the romance. Instead we have people feeling awkward about the age difference, but then becomes more supporting. And most of the story is just about characters learning to accept that the woman is much older.
We also have side stories from
...
their life before reincarnation. But it feels boring and almost like it's just to fatten up the story a bit. It doesn't add anything and honestly made me lose my interest.
Art: In the modern timeline the art is fairly good. Characters are cute and it's not "too shoujo". But in the historical parts it really lacks impact and just looks generic. The difference between modern / medieval is huge, maybe it's hard to draw both in the same series...
Characters: Shoujo. Do I need to say more? Yes? Fine... We have girls that don't want to accept the relationship of the main characters. But after just one conversation these "antagonists" changes sides and become supporters instead. And no character has any interest in sex, it's always "Oh how much I love you, my sweet dear"....
Overall. The idea was fun, but the story was too developed and rushed. I like myself some older women, but this story doesn't even use the charm of older women. She blushes when holding hands, she's mentally weak, and she doesn't use any sex-appeal. Just like one of those typical 16 year old heroine you see in many other romance manga.

Reading this manga is almost like watching the news. In a country you've never heard of, women are kidnapped and sold. Children are trained to shoot guns and kill. And foreign people are fighting for financial gain. "The events recorded in this manga are based off of the state of the world in the time it was written."
Story: The protagonist works as a consultant at a mercenary company. He gives orders, and the fighters obey them. Honestly I thought it was gonna be boring. Because it's the real world, and in our time. But this story does a surprisingly good job by taking things
...
like child soldiers and rebels, and turning it into an actually enjoyable story. Whilst the story takes a few questionable turns, it's remains interesting and delivers a story with a strong inspiration of the real world.
And something to praise really is the elements of "good" and "evil". Because, just like real life, USA is pretending to be the World Police, and rebels are pretending to actually care about the population. In other words, there is no "good". Everyone is war crazed idiots fighting for their own "righteousness". Just like real life.
Art: The art is so good. Quality as a whole is very high. But the details for small things, like the hands and hair and so on is surprisingly good. The huge plus here, is the character designs and facial expressions. And it's not a story where everyone is of a similar age. It might seem like a stupid thing to commented about, but actually having diversity is just really enjoyable.
Characters: An american named Omar, along with the Nipponese protagonist called Arata, makes for a surprisingly nice combo.
I believe the protagonist is generally likable. He's not exactly evil, but his job is to give orders to kill people, and he's damn good at it. And in this story, set in the real world, we have a blond girl with elf ears.
Overall. This story is extremely serious, but it's probably not the type that too many people would enjoy. It's not like a war between humans and demons. This is a realistic warfare story played out in a part of the world that honestly, no one cares about. But I do like those uncomfortable stories that makes you think.
PS: The story changes geographical position too much and unfortunately makes the story lose impact. It also becomes more unrealistic as the story goes on.

The protagonist is a chef, and how can a chef remove a corrupt Lord from a position of power? He can't. A chef cooks food and let's someone else deal with politics.
The food gives no special effects, the protagonist won't randomly be allowed to cook for kings. This story is, in a word, "boring". It's a fairly realistic tale of how a man, educated in the culinary arts, joins a tribe of barbarians without any real food culture and tries to teach them the joy of truly good food. But the protagonist has no special powers, he's not "one of a kind". This really is
...
just a story about a chef that just happens to move to an underdeveloped place. We have strong warriors and smart strategists. But the protagonist, he really is just a chef.
Story: Every civilization has some types of food that they refuse to eat, not due to religious beliefs, but simply because it's "weird and gross". In my country, we don't eat horse, eel, or rabbit, and the only reason is "we don't want to". The point is, this story is about trying to take one of those types of animals, and making people like eating it. It's a slow story with huge amount of world building. And when I say slow, I mean that the first full arc lasts 14 volumes. And yet I love it.
It's a surprisingly realistic story when it comes to the parts that characters have to play out in the story. The protagonist cooks food, and that's really all he's good for. Fighting bad guys, talking to nobels, figuring out the best path for the people to take, that's all done by other characters. Our protagonist simply feeds the important people and pray that everyone thinks it's delicious.
Characters: This author, he can describe characters in such a way that it feels like he's looking at a photo of someone, and tries to describe them as detailed as possible. Not only that, we have a huuuge cast here. And every personality is different, making it easy to connect with this story. Fat old people, sexy young women, strong well trained men, and cute 30 year old mothers. To put it simply, we have characters that seems real. Absolutely amazing. For example, my favorite character is a dark skinned merchant named Shumiral, he doesn't talk much, and he comes from a land where you are not allowed to show emotion, and yet I know he is surprisingly protective of his dear friends.
Art: The women can have minimal clothing, like typical "sexy barbarian girls". But the art somehow manages to make it look more beautiful and cool, rather than sexy. As someone who doesn't like too much ecchi, I really enjoy this art style. The darker skin + strong women, I like those type of girls. But we get illustrations for every type of character, beautiful girls, yes, but also of grown men, cute animals etc.
Overall. It's all about the writing style, and it's perfect. I enjoy the story, not because of the food plot. Not because it's isekai. I like this story only because it's written in a way that creates emotional connections to the characters and the world as a whole.
Of course I realize that people will think this story is boring. The descriptions are long. This author loves details. It almost feels exaggerated, but if you want a detailed world. A good mental image of what's happening, then you should give this story a try. You don't have to enjoy "gourmet stories", because I have no interest in food and yet I like this story anyway.
PS: This story is slow moving. 10 volumes cover about 70days. That's one week per book. And the "main antagonist" is always doing stupid stuff, but nothing ever happens. After all, this is a tale of a simple chef. Our protagonist is simply cooking his food, hoping for the best.

Too many Japanese authors think that people in fantasy worlds would love soy sauce, miso, and red-bean bread.
This story is played out in a medieval Europe-like world. And yet everyone (including divine beings) loves Japanese food. Seriously? Are Japanese authors too egoistical to write that one character says "sorry, but this bitter black sauce is not for me"??? Hey, if this was a true Fantasy World, everyone could drink soy sauce as water for all I care. But the author was lazy and used the word "Europe", thus I believe I'm allowed to use my European palate, after all, this is a Gourmet
...
story.
Story: *sigh* A goddess begs for red bean bread. Seriously. A goddess is begging for a gift of Japanese sweets. That's what this story is like. Honestly, It's not even a fantasy gourmet story. The author tries so use "fantasy world ingredients", such as Big Boar, or Big Deer, or Big Snake, or Big Octopus. Or maybe even a Big Bird? See my point?.. There's a gourmet manga (don't remember the name) where they eat FANATSY stuff, like living armors, or actual grotesque monsters. But this light novel series is just using safe options that you would be able to use in real life. A huge boar? Make me some huge bacon...
Art: The black'n white art is really rough, but not necessarily bad. (Resembling Attack on Titan) But for a light novel, where illustrations are few, I really wished that they would skip the cool-looking gimmick and just make normal illustrations.
Characters: So, in the beginning (Note: like in the first two chapters) the main character was so weak, he had to hire bodyguards. The kingdom he was summoned to has a royal family that consists of human supremacists. It was a really interesting start and the characters were all fairly original. And then the protagonist meets new characters, all of which are copy-pasted from other isekai novels. I mean, I get it. Why live in a country with only humans? It simply feels like a missed opportunity. After all, "Shield Hero" has proved that it could be nice with some darker tones in isekai.
Overall. The biggest flaw is the reactions to the food. The protagonist was an office worker, okay? And yet his food is so good that gods will start begging for a taste of it. I mean, yeah, a modern amateur with good ingredients can make better food than a chef from the middle ages. But it's all too exaggerated. Though the biggest flaw is still that the author has exclusively bragged about how good Japanese food is. Not "Food from the 21th century", but Japanese specifically. I mean, I just believe that donuts would be more generally likable than red-bean buns. Especially since the protagonist (in other words, the author) said it was a fantasy world based on specifically "Europe".

In this space opera, there are no carbonated drinks. The Protagonist, when discovering that he might never drink Cola again, simply said "Don't worry about me. I was just giving up on my hopes and dreams."
Story: There's NO shocking beginning. No murder, no traffic accident. And nothing else that might shock the readers in any way. The protagonist simply woke up in a different world, how and why is skipped over. And yet this story has a huge impact right from the start. The description of being strapped to a chair in a room, extremely cold and unsure of what the hell is happening.
...
Only to realize the we're in the pilot's seat of a space ship. And you are in the middle of goddamn nowhere. Floating in space. Spectacular prologue.
"Sometimes, less is more." The author doesn't try too hard to stand out. This story feels almost minimalistic. The story is slow moving, in the beginning it plays out in a space colony (space station) where nothing really happens. And yet, me, someone who hate space opera, grows attached to the protagonist and an elf space mercenary. The plot isn't even important. The protagonist has a space ship in which he lives. He needs to make money for food, fuel, and future repairs. How? Mercenary work. Plot? Pff, please. Simply living in a space ship cost a friggin fortune. And that's enough for an interesting story. The end goal is to buy a house, on a planet. But that's apparently a privilege for the mega-rich people. As for the battles, they are well written and is easy to understand. Though they do use terms that might, at first, be unfamiliar to people that has never dived into the space genre. Shield for example, why would a spaceship hold a shield in front of itself for protection? What? It's energy shields? Da hell is that!?
Art: The art is pretty good when it comes to characters. They look original enough to be memorable, and the protagonist has black hair without looking like Kirito. So, yeah, good enough. The bad art in this sci-fi story though, is the spaceships. It doesn't have a sci-fi feeling to it, I can't even give an example of what the spaceship looks like. It's so badly drawn, that you can't compare it to anything. It's simply bad.
Characters: Here is the strong side of the story. We have three regular characters. All of which are well made. But the biggest strong point is that the protagonist has balls. He's brave enough to fight and kill people. He's manly enough to make sweet love to beautiful women. A real dude. Then we have the space mercenary sempai, and it's a female elf. Unexpected for role for an elf, but I like it. Along with a damsel in distress, mainly fan-service role for her, still likable though. No one is too exaggerated and there's no emotional flashbacks that drag out the story. All in all, great characters. We do not have a antagonist as of yet, but hopefully it won't be a long lost relative with a "I'm yo daddy!" scene. That would be too typical for a space opera. lol
So, overall. This story is slow moving at first. But the space setting is so well made. The world building is a good mix of wars to come and enough outlaws to always have action. And yet the way things are explained is interesting enough to hope for slice-of-life arcs. Everything from artificial food to fecal management, everything is mentioned and it's always an interesting read. Cup holders in the future, I never wondered about that, but now I know how it's gonna be. Epic.

This manga is extremely disturbing. I was hoping for something akin to Yotsuba, a funny wholesome comedy. This manga is nothing like that. It's simply disturbing.
Story: So at first I believed this story might be pretty normal. A woman wants to dress up little girls in cute clothes. Many mothers are like that. But there is a line that is crossed here, it stopps being "funny" and becomes freaking creepy. Mainly because the protagonist is a random woman and not related to the girl in the story.
Art: The manga has some disturbing scenes. It's quite sad. Though, the adult female is really cool
...
and has a well trained body. It's pretty nice and not that common to see. Too bad that the loli is also the subject of fan-service...
Overall. I won't lie. I skimmed through the manga because I just couldn't enjoy it. I think the anime was fun, awkward but fun. This manga is too extreme at certain points though. And just in the first few pages of vol 1 is a fan-service scene that was outright disgusting. So, if you like loli, read this.
But, if you are a descent human that is looking for a comedy, this is not worth it.
