Btooom! (Anime) add (All reviews)
*mild spoilers*
The trouble with 12 episode anime not meant for school children is that they often go a bit too far to make it more “mature”. Which is exactly why I felt the rape scenes, sexual assault and abuses were completely unnecessary; they were included for shock value and judging by the positive reviews of how realistic this anime was, they worked.

I’d have given the anime a solid 8 if not for the extremely annoying female MC. Blonde, blue eyes, big breasts and a chubby face – the animators thought it’d be enough to make men swoon over this sniveling piece of mess, but nah. read more

Speaking of the anime, I enjoyed it. Yes, the age difference between Ren and Haru did make me uncomfortable, and I wished Haru would have been younger (or Ren be older) but then my mind wandered to the blatant display of the nipples of 14 year old in the ecchi anime that I’ve watched (ya know, the kinda content that the haters of this show are totes okay with), and then I was completely okay with this relationship. I liked the character development of all the characters, especially the growing bond between Ren and Haru. I also liked how the twins warmed up to Ren, read more

If the anime had the pacing and interesting twists like in the first 4 eps that got me hooked to it, then I would have rated it a 9. However, the paced slowed down considerably, the filler eps did nothing for me and the ending was a little too….. much for me. I mean, yeah you two like each other and stuff, but deciding to get married without actually having experienced life as a couple? That’s BEYOND dumb. Which is precisely why anime school children shouldn’t be considered a benchmark for romantic relationships, and precisely why they *are* considered a benchmark.
Needless to say, I read more

Let’s begin with the positives. The animation is on point, and the dialogues are beautiful. There certainly are touching moments in the anime, which even managed to move a person like me. So I get why people are so hyped about this anime.

Unfortunately, I went in with decent expectations and while the movie certainly was a decent watch, it wasn’t as outstanding as I thought it would be. For starters, I guess the one of the bigger reason the Western world is so impressed with this movie was because of how beautifully it portrayed Japanese tradition and culture, both of which the US lacks read more

The anime has many positives and shortcomings, and I'll list a few (impossible to list all without spoiling the anime) in this short and spoiler free review.

First off, the things that I loved:
1. The soundtrack. Surprisingly beautiful.
2. The fact that his anime did not feel to go the ecchi, teenage rom-com or yaoi way (the most popular categories these days). Instead, it took head on a very serious topic.
3. Consistency. I mean, barring the plotholes, the anime was fairly consistent in its theme.
4. The time when 9 disarms a bomb. The music simply added to the beauty of the scene.
5. The pacing of the show, read more

Know that this genre of anime isn't for everybody. The only people who are gonna enjoy it are female otakus, especially if they're into BL. We're the core audience here so if you're a straight male, you should best stay away from it.

For those of you interested in the reverse harem genre, know that somethings have to be accepted at face value, including:
1. Lots of boys will like one girl, for no apparent reason other than that she's pretty (and sometimes, has a sweet personality)
2. The girl is always completely oblivious of how the boys feel for her.
3. There is no plot - all the read more

If you enjoyed Ao No Exorcist, you're gonna love Noragami too. There are quite a few similar elements in both the series. However, I can't state them without spoiling either or both the series for those of you who haven't watched them.

Anyway, please know that you have to watch this anime with a pinch of salt. There are MANY unexplained situations, character motivations and plot holes. There is also poor character development, and some confusion which could have easily been solved with simple conversations. I also wish the Yuki arc was shorter, seeing how a lot more episodes were dedicated to his read more

Are you a single, sexually deprived male who revels in watching cheap angles of the breasts and underwears of underaged animated girls? Then great, because this anime is perfect for you! The women are all dense, because how else would an "ecchi" work? Good for you though, because you already can’t handle strong women. They’re also one dimensional characters, because of course, all introspection has to be done by our beloved hero.

Speaking of whom, Raul is an absolute darling and a complete gentleman (not being sarcastic). After all, he did aspire to be a hero! He was the saving grace of read more

Kuro is my guilty pleasure. It has many shortcomings and I recognize them all, but it will forever hold a very special place in my heart. My crush on Sebastian Michaelis was the reason which pushed me into anime, and I will forever be grateful to Kuro for that.

Surprised to see so many positive reviews; thought there would be more criticisms. Anyway, set in Victorian London, the anime is a visual delight. It does lack in quality from time to time, and the plot is all over the place (it begins with Sherlock style episodes and then quickly forgets about solving crimes and abruptly starts read more

This is a short and spoiler free review.

Psycho Pass had a great premise and it could have been an excellent series, if only the writers had focused more on the technologies of the future and how they were misused by people for their own purposes. However, the technology took a back seat and the focus was mostly on solving crimes, which in essence doesn't make it any different from other crime/detective animes.

The biggest drawback of this show is its characters. Except 2 villains, NONE of the characters have any character development. They are fairly one (or is it two?) dimensional. The female MC read more
