I admit, at first i didnt plan on watching this at all, but I guess i got bored or something and decided to. I will say that theres not a whole hell of alot thats new or original about this but it does a fairly good job with what its got so we have to credit it that much.
Story: girl likes boy, boy does most epic rejection ever, girls house collapses, girl ends up living with boy... huh, thats not usually how it works, but what the hell right? its anime, whos going to question it. Basically from here on out it is their
...
interactions and the building of feelings and the other stuff that usually happens in this type of show.
Art: Cant complain, so long as it doesnt look like it was drawn by an infant i'm usually okay.
Character: kotoko is just that girl who doesnt know how to give up on irie who shes in love with, she is also kinda slow and fails at most things she does. Irie on the other hand is disinterested in seemingly everything, is a genius and good at everything. Right off the bat it doesnt seem like they would be a good pair. the rest of the characters are made up of various guys and gals that are interested in these two characters.
Enjoyment: well, l did enjoy it at first but every romance in this series was completely one-sided and that actually annoyed me a little bit because that usually doesnt work out, but somehow or other, they all seem to here.
My main issue though is that Irie isnt really that great seeming to me. Sure hes good looking, got a cool haircut, knows how to fill out a pair of slacks, but he's still an asshole 90% of the time, and it confuses me what kotoko would see in him. Hell she has way better guys (seriously extremely better) who want to be with her but nope, nice guys gonna lose out here.
Sure kotoko loved Irie but the show didnt give me enough reason to and thats why im not really feeling their relationship(not against it, I just think there were more suitable matches). Now, its not like i have a problem with his lack of visible emotion, but damn dude, give me something! I get it, all my life i'd been cold as shit to others, but not to those I care about and thats what I dont quite get from his character. I would sat that it is the fact that emotionally I am so much like irie's character that i cant understand why he doesn't change, but ill quit now before this becomes my personal story.

Time to get yelled at for giving this a 10 by some random member of the mal community but frankly, I dont give a shit and i'll tell you why.
Rec was just something I stumbled across (at 2:00 in the morning) and I just figured on watching the first episode and I would see what I thought. I was pulled in automatically and decided to watch the entire series right there on the spot even though it was late at night and I had to be up and 4:30 for work. Lets talk about why I liked it.
Story: Okay a guy gets stood up on
...
a date but meets a new girl as hes about to go storming back home, and upon her apartment building burning down later that night he invites her to stay with him. Throughout the series from here on they kind of tiptoe around a relationship with each other and while other people can see it, they just don't. As such the story is pretty much just them at their jobs and everybody just waiting to see how long it takes for them to realize their feelings for one another. To be honest you know how its going to go the minute you start watching, but I don't think that that is a bad thing.
Art: The show was animated very simply and I think anyone who watches anime should get what I mean by that. They don't waste time with unnecessary details and give us what we need to see so I actually prefer this animation because there's not as much to distract me.
Sound: I usually never talk about sound, and if I do its usually to say it sucked, but not here. The other time I will talk about it is when I think that the voice cast was absolutely perfect for their roles and while many people probably don't pay attention to this, or even care, I really focus on this because if the voice actors don't convince me, i'm done then and there. I especially like the actor for aka onda (the girl) which I thought was humorous since she is a voice actor in the show.
Characters: Never before have I felt that there was a character that I could really relate to, and that all changed with this. Matsumaru is now that anime character that I totally got and related to.
He works in advertising and he gets to spend time with aka that way due to her job as a voice actress. I also have to say that they are one of the cutest anime couples I have ever seen. Aside from them we have matsumaru's friend and colleague who is funny as hell and aka's manager who is sorta trying harder to make aka and matsumaru's relationship work than they are. Like I said, I liked all of the characters which rarely happens for me.
Enjoyment: ...I gave it a 10, do I really need to say anything else?
Overall: I don't know that I've ever seen an anime that felt so real, and connected with me in such a way as this. I liked everything it had: the story, the humor, and of course the romance. It impresses me how much happens in such a short series, and I will definitely be watching this again, and again. While I don't usually do this, I will make an exception and say that if you are reading this, you need to watch this! Now!

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! THIS IS BULLSHIT! THIS IS ONLY TWO EPISODES! RAWR!!!!!!!!!
And that pretty much sums up my thoughts as I have just completed this approximately five minutes ago. I thought that it sounded pretty good, and being a complete idiot, I never looked to see how many episodes this was. Now here I sit raging about how there needs to be more, because two episodes for this series is far too few.
Okay now lets get into it.
Story: a girls working at her sisters eroge game company as a voice actor, which is hot. She and another girl do the dirty lines, which is
...
hot. While doing lines she starts imagining it in real life and then we see what shes thinking, which is hot! The story is hot just in case I didnt make that clear enough just now.
Animation: HOT! that about sums it up, I mean I can't think of anything else to say about it. Its animated very well, and they draw some pretty hot stuff. Something that I should say is that this has more sex in it than many hentais that ive seen, so beware or that, or rather look forward to it... because its hot.
--Okay, I gotta drop the whole "hot" thing, I may be overdoing it--
Characters: a highschool age girl doing eroge, her sister who runs the company(more or less), the other voice actress who is hot(sorry, but she is), various members of the team doing the game, and a dude from her school who I suppose should be pegged as prospective romantic interest #1. They really worked for me, as far as characters go, I cant think of anything I would really change.
Enjoyment: I, well, I enjoyed this alot, perhaps more than I shouldve(not like that you perverts!), and as I hopefully made painfully clear in the intro, I WANT MORE!!!!!!

I have to be completely honest, this was complete crap. I am a huge clannad fan and i was mortified when l found out that there was a movie that l hadn't seen but that feeling didn't even compare to how l felt when l was done with this, and heres why...
-I should also note here that I will be writing this assuming you've seen the tv series or the vn, if you have not, you will encounter spoilers here-
-Also, I will be referring to an "original" story in this review often in regards to the anime, but it is also the story for the
...
visual novel which came before the movie, so don't start throwing dates at me saying that the movie came before the anime, because the vn still came first, hence the original-
The Story: ugh, this was nowhere near as good as the anime or the vn for that matter. they messed with the story in this to the extent that it didn't even seem like the same thing, in fact l am almost insulted that this is allowed to hold the name of Clannad! The alternate world that is a good half of the story is just removed completely, and as we all know, without that alternate world, Nagisa cannot be brought back to life, and that is really big to the original story.
I know that some people like this because its a bit more realistic... but that idealism and impossibility was an integral part of the success that the show and vn had! They just hammed it up sooo much in the anime that it was damn near impossible not to enjoy everything that was going on.
The Art: I was a huge fan of the art in the show because it was so crisp, clear, clean, cute, (any more "c" words i can use?), but this was just complete crap. The art was shoddy at best and some of my largest annoyances were the mouths when characters were talking, they had two shapes: open and closed, but nothing else and it really began to piss me off. Aside from that, the art just wasn't all that clean and i feel like the studio that put this out wasn't even trying.
The sound: I rarely talk about the sound, and if I do, it is because it is bad enough that i feel obligated to. Based off of that last sentence, you can probably guess that the sound quality isn't that good in this, and that's really all the more I should say.
The Characters: The characters are all the same at least, well, maybe not. What I mean is that some of the characters have their roles in the series completely changed, or their personalities are different, or they are just taken out entirely! The only ones that are about the same as in the show are: Tomoya, Nagisa, Akio, and Sanae, everybody else is changed somehow. kouko is still a teacher, yosuke is more involved with tomoya, tomoyas dad actually has some screen time, sunohara is actually semi-responsible(which is just wrong) and tomoyo doesnt beat his ass all the time. kyou is tomoyos best buddy and we only ever see the back of kotomi's head as she directs the choir(...). You can just assume that anyone i didnt just mention is just not in the movie, and holds no role what-so-ever.
Enjoyment: If banging my head against a wall as I wait for this to end is considered enjoyment, then I enjoyed this more than i should've... Seriously, I had to fight myself not to just stop watching because it wasn't good and i was having the crap bored out of me.
They did do a few things right( in my opinion) like actually giving tomyas dad an actual purpose, and making the relationship with Nagisa the center of the story by reducing the roles of the other girls to friends rather than prospective interests. However this doesn't even begin to dig this movie out of the grave it dug for itself. I was going to try to avoid comparing this to the show and vn, but just differed to greatly and it just doesn't work.
It kinda scares me that this is what the show couldve been if it hadn't been done so well.
As far as i'm concerned, this doesn't exist, and the only people who should watch this are the true Clannad fans who want to be able to appreciate how good the show with the true ending really is.

I, like most of the other viewers of samurai bride was brought back by the boobs and swords; not story, not any deep sense of enjoyment, simply the boobs and swords just because those two things are a great combination. In fact, I think that's gonna be my two word summary of Samurai Girls/Samurai Bride, the problem? theres not as many boobs in this!(plenty of swords yeah) but wheres my boobs!?
Now down to business.
Story: ...Pfff, story!? This is a harem fanservice and that means that so long as the animators/producers/all the other guys do their jobs right, the story writers wont have to worry about
...
what they're doing because all us guys(and the few female viewers) will be ogling at the boobs and panty-shots and somehow that will keep us occupied for the entire 12 episode stretch of the series, hell it worked once before so why not this time? Granted there are some out there who wont be so easily occupied and might get bored about halfway through, but don't worry folks, that's about the time when the story shows up. Its nothing too original, its about the same deal as the last time: evil force, destroy japan, boobs, and the chicks with the swords(but more importantly boobs) have to come and save the day. Beyond that I wont say but that's the basic outline.
Art: The art is great, im actually being serious right now. The art is just very different from other animes and its this uniqueness that caught my attention in the first season. I can really only describe it as being simpler, but at the same time there is a lot of detail and how they do this is just incredible to me. Now I have to bring up the other big part of the art section... the boobs, because boobs are art, but the art is not always of boobs, but when it is, it just makes it sooo much better.
Characters: Well we have the triumphant return of: the extremely childish but equally well-endowed juubei, the semi-arrogant princess sen, her loyal servant hanzo, the girl who the nude images of could be considered illegal yukimura, her servant matabe who seems to think that a loincloth is proper lower-body wear, and the chick with the hammer who gets knocked out more than an armless boxer, and finally that badass pirate girl with the eye patch gissen. As for new arrivals we have four evil resurrected samurai chicks, some great ki master, and a monkey... yeah you read that right, a monkey is now a main character.
Overall Enjoyment: Like ive said, the animation style gets serious points in my book, but not much else. The story is a lot of recycled stuff from the first season and I see very little new stuff being brought to the table this time around. Tragically there didn't seem to be as many boob shots in this, last time around it seemed as if they went out of their way to put tits on screen, but not this time, so all you horny guys out there are gonna have to go buy a playboy or something. I was slightly annoyed by the fact that the show made no progress until the final five or six episodes but I guess it cant really be helped.
I might have sounded like I was being down on samurai bride, but I want to take this time to say that I did enjoy watching it, and I would watch it again, I was simply disappointed because I had built it up in my head prior to its release. It was fun, if you liked samurai girls you should already be watching this and I think that's all ive got for you today, enjoy!

This is a short tale of twin sisters who are quite obviously in love with each other, that’s right not like "love each other" but rather "in love with each other" hopefully you get the difference here otherwise the entire point of this anime will be lost on you. they have a little stalker fan girl who wants the one but they dont care and are always back in bed with each other at the end of the day.
Heres how this was pitched to me: a yuri romance involving twins. this is something which inspired perverse thoughts upon me in almost record setting time
...
and now i feel terrible for that having now seen the entire thing. These girls just want to be together for the rest of their lives and damn it all if theyre siblings and it would count as incest(or in this unique case, "twincest") they just want to be together which in my book counts as the fucking definition of romance! some people are probably all like "oh this cant happen, theyre siblings, twins no less, how can some sick bastard come up with this stuff" well heres my response to that: if you truly love someone from the bottom of your heart, no matter who it is, you should pursue it and damn the consequenses to hell! it seems to me that some of the most forbidden romances (like this: homosexuality, incest, etc.) have the purest intentions and i dont think that anyone should be judged for who they love, and its because of that belief that i was a fan of this anime.

The orgasm powered robots are back and ready to kick some ass. Now at this point I would like to say that if you dont already know, this is a sequal and I will admit that you dont need to see the first to understand this, I think you still should, because you will be able to appreciate this more.
The original was good but the main problem I had was that I didnt really think a whole lot of the characters. There wasnt that one guy that I was like, hey I can relate to this; it just didnt happen. Here however they did
...
a far better job creating appealing characters which is the biggest step up in my book. Another change is that the show isnt about the orgasm powered robots, in fact they kinda go away from that. I like that because while I can say it was funny as hell at first it got old after so long and I was scared that that was all it was gonna be for a second season. Instead its used more in a symbolic nature, saying yeah thats whats up, but we're not here to make a vulgar display.
The story itself starts 12000 years after the stuff in Aquarion goes down, and as you probably know it follows the reincarnates of those characters, and of course the characters before that. As was the case in Aquarion, Evol follows a group of teenageish characters as they pilot Aquarion to save the world from abductors. It focuses on their relationships with one another and shit like that, but at the same time it is able to maintain an interesting story that keeps you going all the way through.
One thing that the story does is this: it changes alot of stuff that happenned in the original Aquarion, as in details that mattered alot to the story. This was risky because if you start changing stuff people can become confused, but I didnt and I doubt anyone will because they do such a good job in just the overall story-telling effort. It answers all of your questions which is very very important in any show.
The art was beautiful. I thought that the art in the original was pretty decent but damn, this just takes it all up several notches. The fight scenes are terrific and everything is so clear. The character models are done far better than in Aquarion and that was just fantastic to see.
Now on to the characters themselves. As ive already said, the characters were far more appealing to me this time around and I found myself rooting for them, which is something that didnt happen in the original. It follows Amata and his friend (who he'd like to be more than friends with) Mikono as they enter the Neo-deava academy and become elements for Aquaria. As you should have figured out by now, or will shortly these are supposed to be the reincarnates of celian and apollonius which is kinda true but at the same time not and as it goes on you'll see what i mean. Also in this you have a villain who looks suspiciously like Amata and some others make return appearances such as that shadow-angel dude from Aquarion and that crazy bastard Fudo shows up(yeah 12,000 years later).
As the story progressed, it got more and more tragic. There are just sad situations and the whatnot popping up everywhere at a point and I was all depressed and shit like "aw damn, this is gonna have a sad ending" which was the vibe I was getting. The actual ending though is very good and all the sad stuff that goes down at least gets brought to points where theres closure if nothing else. The ending also provides an actual end, by this I mean that the whole 12,000 year repeating cycle can finally be ended by the end to this.
On a whole I was really happy with this show. It had subtle humor, good characters, orgasmic animation(sorry I just had to use that pun) and it fixed alot of the crap that Aquarion didnt do so hot with. I will recomend thsi to anyone who liked the original, hell, Ill recomend this if you didnt like the original because this is just on such a higher level. Enjoy.

Boobs, everywhere...
There, thats grenadier in two words, but since i'm such a nice guy and enjoy spending my time writing reviews for free \(*_*)/ I will elaborate a bit for you at home.
This basically follows a super well-endowed ditzy blonde chick as she runs around trying to prevent fighting and violence in general. How does she plan to do this? by stripping them of their armour, which is meant to be taken the dirty way, but after so long the phrase just gets really lame, but yeah thats her plan. To do that she decides that flashing smiles will solve all the problems, guess what,
...
it doesnt. Instead she stops people from fighting by shoving her boobs in their faces, which in my opinion would work far better; if nothing else, it would work on me.
Character wise, shes about it with the exception of some samurai dude who litterally brings a knife(or katana in this case) to a gun fight. Yeah, everbodys runnin around packing heat in the form of machine guns and he walks in with his sword, and is all like "l got this guys", no he doesnt, the blond chick with the bazookas "has this."
The story is as weak as a pot of three day old coffee, and involves minimal story line progression. It makes sense at least which is one thing it has going for it.
To be completely honest, the ONLY reason that l kept watching after a certain point was the boobs, but l still almost got bored with them. My opinion is that if you like boobs, you'll love this; if you love boobs, you'll go nuts for this; if you are like me and enjoy lots of boobs, but need a story behind the to keep you interested, you will probably watch this whole thing but then realize that it came to nothing. As with everything in life however, you just need to try it yourself and see how you feel.

THE TURTLE RACE ENTERS STAGE 2!!! Thats gotta be the best way I can describe how I felt when I sat down to watch this 2nd season of kimi ni todoke. As is the case with many/most of you, I watched the first season and was rather annoyed(or simply straight-up pissed) by the extremely slow approach they took; so just to let you all know, its gonna be more of the same here.
The story: This continues right where the first season left off with sawako and kazehaya each secretly loving each other from afar(or as far as one can get in the same class) and
...
feeling that their affections are one-sided.
If season one could be described as a turtle race, the first half of this could be described as "an uphill leg of the tour de france, between two guys with no legs" As you have hopefully gained from this clever analogy, not only is this slow paced, but at the begining it actually goes backwards briefly. This is resolved eventually, and the show couldve been over at least three times by episode six, but why would they do that when they could drag it out for another six episodes.
The art: Same as ever, kinda seems to be done in a joking manner but it works well; sawako can look super pretty, or fool me into thinking the zombie appocalypse just started.
The characters: All the same as last season, with the addidtion of some flamboyant blonde guy who seems interested in sawako but I dont know that we ever know what he's after.
Enjoyment: I was happy when it was over, I mean this is two ways. Firstly, I felt like I had spent too much time on it and was happy that it was finally done with. Secondly, I liked the ending, it was one of those "bout f-ing time" things, and while some of you may consider this to be a spoiler, think about it, why would they make a second season for any other reason?
Overall this was really a sweet little story, but it took forever. I thought that it was kinda generic with the expection of sawakos role which was actually quite refreshing. Honestly I dont know if I would recomend this to anyone, but on the flip side, I also wouldnt tell anyone not to watch this. This is kinda just up to you, in hindsight, im glad to have watched this.

When l sat down to watch kimi ni todoke, I was looking forward to a good ol fashioned lovey-dovey story, but you know what l got? a turtle race. Now heres the bad part, not only was it really slow-paced, but it was like both turtles decided to go home before getting to the finish line of this perverbial event.
I suppose now is the time that I ought to justify my remarks so I dont sound like im trolling the show.
The story as you've probably read by now is about a girl named sawako as she wanders through her lonely life. As a side
...
note, almost every anime out there has that lonely shy girl in it, but this is the first that i've seen where the show is about the shy girl, and that was quite refreshing.
In the show, she meets and falls in love with a cool-ass dude by the name of kazehaya and well it sorta seems mutual. At this point it becomes that turtle race to see who realizes it first, but you cant make a show around that right? Well, it seems they didnt need to, as in the show it also follows sawakos efforts to make friends, participate in events, and basiaclly just get a social life (which can be quite difficult, l speak from experience).
The art in this show was somehting that I wont soon forget. It wasnt super-amazing or anything like that, but it was different. I say this because the animators could make sawako look extremely beautiful, or so scarry that my bowels just released... At first l felt like the animators just didnt care, but eventually l realized that it was probalby the most appropriate animation possible in this show.
The characters are a little generic, as l said earlier the only thing thats really different in the character department is that the shy girl is the main character rather than the supporting role. Other than her though, you have the steriotypical nice guy, that guy who just doesnt give a shit, some girl who would wreck most guys in a brawl, a couple plotters, and the ever present crew of goofy-asses which are there to make the main characters all the more appealing.
l enjoyed the concept of the polar-opposites falling in love, and as it progressed I really got excited for them. The problem that I had is really just the less-than-stellar ending. The way I see it, if you make me sit around for a 25 episode show, you better give me a reason to come back for season two, and as it stands im not sure if they have.
