I love Anime. I love insanity. I usually watch anything I can get a hold of, Usually via internet, or TV. I'm a terrible critic, I fall in love with everything I watch. Usually, Even if I don't like a series, If I can tell work was put in to it, and other people could like it, I still rate things highly. But it's rare I come across something I don't like.
Right now, There is only a few things that can make me not like an Anime. Senselessly overused and detailed gore is one. Oceans of blood, Fine. Bleeding to death, Fine. Running around with your arm cut off and a bone sticking out, Laughing? Skull snapped in half so you can see Grey matter? Intestines hanging out? All this and more, every second of every chapter/episode? No thanks, I'm good. From what my friends have shown me, Elfen Lied for example looks disgusting and terrible. But I LOVE Hellsing. So go figure.
Another is excessive drama. I have to use examples here. InuYasha. Part of the reason I rated it only a 6, is because it's awesome... Or it would be, if every other episode wasn't...
Kagome: Blah blah blah, I wish InuYasha liked me!
Inuyasha: I like Kikyo!
Kagome: Jerk! *stomp off*
Then, Two episodes later, She comes back. Then two or three episodes later, Storms off again, like clockwork. It's ridiculous and irritating. We know the issues. They don't need to be restated 80 times. Can we get back to the awesome-tastic action-y stuff? Can we go 20 or so episodes without hitting the same brick wall we've slammed into so many times, we've lost track? Please?
Don't misread me, I don't mind drama. Ranma for instance had loads of senseless drama, but it's inevitable in a show like that. That's what makes it fun. It's when the drama sticks it's nose into places it totally shouldn't.
For instance! Say it's the big fight between Chuck Norris and Goku! Omg. Awesome. What if ChiChi popped in randomly, and dragged Goku away because he was found kissing another woman? No, No, No! Not where it belongs, Back to the fight or I'ma smack you crazy script writers! xD
Third thing, Is animal violence. One thing I can't stand in an anime, or on TV, is people hurting dogs or cats or hamsters. But I mean, The obviously defenseless ones. Again, I use Elfen Lied as an example. A friend tells me it was only one scene, and they got what they deserved for it, But it absolutely kills me to see anything bad happen to an innocent, defenseless puppy. That's sick, wrong, and evil on a whole tier lower than Demonic anime's could hope to get. It turns my stomach to even think about. However... There are few exceptions. Like in an explosion, Where an anime shows things blowing up, if they show a stray dog or cat for a second, it's for affect. Not so bad... Or in Naruto, Akamaru. Don't bother me none when he gets hurt. It's when the pain is dragged out on defenseless animals, it moves from dramatic effect, to sickening. That kills me, worse than anything else can. I don't even mind people dying, so long as the puppy gets away okay. I'm screwed up like that. lol
But yes, That effectively explains my tastes. No excessive and unneeded gore, no harm to innocent and defenseless animals, and no drama in inappropriate places, Thanks. Other than that, I pretty much fall in love with whatever I watch.
