Welcome to my review to the anime 'Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue', or simply 'My Roommate is a Cat'. Plot/Story: The core of the story is fairly simple. It's about Mikazuki Subaru, a young successful writer who not so long alogo lost his parents through a traffic accident. What follows is a son now completely alone. Having no one Mikazuki is a quiet person who dislikes the company of other people and who enjoys to stay alone and in calm. This all however gets thrown over when he happens to find a Stray cat and reluctantly decides to let her stay home. This marks the beginning of a 'probably' long friendship and many deep lessons in life for Mikazuki as his life gets a complete makeover.
For what this story is it is fairly simple and that is not a bad thing. More so, a simple story allows for molding the characters and their individual stories. There isn't anything wrong twith this story, easy to digest and quick to follow. Something like this is good for SoL-type anime like this.
Art: The art in this show isn't anything spectacular nor noteworthy. I would even argue that the artstyle is somewhat amateurish and some movements sometimes feel sloppy or sluggish. The animation also isn't really worth commenting on.
Sound: The BGM in this show is nice to hear and it mixes well with the atmosphere of the things happening. SFX aren't of use here since there is no need for anything having a memorable sound effect. As for the OP and ED, both are fine and are on the calm side of songs. Both however are not really memorable and again, the show doesn't really shine in this aspect either.
Characters: Yeah, this is it. This is the point of the anime. Since this is a SoL without any relevant supernatural or absurd elements all the characters in this show are portrayed as people like you and me. The only human I think I should talk about is the main character Mikazuki Subaru himself. He is the one character this series is about. It is his character arc sotospeak that's of relevance. At the start Subaru is a mental wreck. No outside connections, no friends, just being alone in his house writing his books.
You could say he has a routine in his life that primarily consists of writing, sleeping, and eating. Sometimes, that is. The fact that this one stray cat appears in his life is a new thing and Subaru hates unexpected things. But it is this cat, which he later named Haru that is the foundation of his new life. Slowly he makes his way back as a real human being.
The other and most attractive aspect of this anime is that the viewer gets to see things from the side of the cat. In the mind of Haru we get to see things from a totally different point of view. Of course Haru also develops as a character but not nearly on the scale as Subaru.
I would argue and I feel that I am not the only one to think this way, the reason why this anime is so good is the reason that this anime hits home, especially for owners of cats. As someone who has cats in his home I can see things. It is a truly heartwarming story like others from past seasons. I feel like there is at least one such anime each season where it is all about the feels and the warm feelings. And I am all in for such stuff. I do not think I cried during this show but I can see other people doing so. Some things are generally sad and touching. Now that I think about it, I might have had wet eyes at one point. Yeah, that one was a strong moment. Actually, there were more. Cut what I said, I cried during this show. It is one of those stories that carries the heart on the right side.
Subaru and Haru are truly actually the only characters that do matter. Everyone else is there for the purpose of making Subaru a better man and bringing him back to his roots and realizing things long since forgotten.
Overall Enjoyment & verdict: To be fair, I did already talk briefly about what I feel about this show. A genuinely good and touching simple story and about simple people and simple animals that yoh can find pretty much everywhere. Maybe not in the exact same positions like them but similar. It's what's inside that counts after all, not the stuff around. That's a good reason why music and artstyle isn't grand, they do not avert the eyes of the viewer from what is happening onscreen.
Yes, I did enjoy it. A lot. It's not a masterpiece but it doesn't have to be. It achieved what it was trying to do, what it was trying to deliver. Things I will take to heart myself. Thanks for this show, like all the other similar stories.
If not for you the anime world would look very different.

Welcome to my review to the anime 'Domestic Girlfriend', in the original of course with the title as seen above. Domestic Girlfriend will be from here on in this review referred to as DomeKano, because it's easier. DomeKano is an peculiar anime, that's for sure. a number of pretty great shows; this is not one of them. Not by a long shot. So let's get diving!
Plot/Story: Our casanova Fujii Natsuo has a crush on his female Teacher, Tachibana Hina. Then, one night Natsuo's friends invite him to a karaoke night. During that night Natsuo meets a somewhat shy girl with the name Rui. After some small talk Rui invites him to her home where she asks him if he would do the knick-knack with her. Just because she wants to experience it. And they actually do it. Now comes the very next day and Natsuo's father finally wants to marry again. And the woman he marries and married is the mother of Hina and Rui. Meeting them at the front door Natsuo promptly collapsed. Now his sisters are the teacher he is in love with and the girl he just had sex with. From there on the trainwreck starts.
And this is truly a trainwreck of a story. It's like watching a train crash into a hard wall without making any institutions in evading the tragedy. DomeKano is a bad soap opera, a bad drama sitcom. What unfolds here is the story of an anime regarding pseudo-incest, so incest with not blood-related family members. Now the topic of incest in film can be executed very well with a good script and a good amount of drama. There are plenty or dramatic real-life cases where couples find out, sometimes years later, that they are related by blood. In the case of DomeKano we do not have actual incest, but a step down from that which is not less disgusting. However, pseudo-incest is technically not the actual one so many pornographic things use this, including of course hentai. DomeKano has many moments where it comes very close to that genre without actually going over the bounds. All this CAN be done right if the story is good and everything makes sense, this...does not. For the dramatic premise this anime has, it does little to nothing with it and instead fills each character and most moments with cheap guilt and splashed mediocre drama. On that note, instead of being dramatic, DomeKano comes off as a comedy. And that is not intentional.
Art: Nothing really to note here. The animation and artstyle are painfully standard for today and because of that this aspect of the show doesn't shine and can receive praise. Except one scene! A scene where the head of Natsuo is replaced by a cheaply drawn expression. Obviously done for a comedic purpose, it is the only REALLY memorable thing of the show that sticks out. Also the Opening has some neat shots and color usage.
Sound: I'm mostly sure that BGM was there but if you were to ask me about those pieces of music I wouldn't be able to point out anything. Maybe if I had written this review during the show I may have had some BGM in my mind still, but that's just an assumption. As for the Opening and Ending, both are pretty good; that's actually all there is to it.
Characters: Sigh, characters. An aspect that can raise an anime to amazing heights or break an anime and burrow it 6 feet under. The true champ of the show is Tachibana Rui, a pretty and introverted girl who didn't deserve the absurd and tasteless things that unfolded. Talking a lot about her would be going into spoiler territory and I don't want that. Let's just say that she's a nice girl who had the misfortune of her would-be love becoming her new brother. Of course feelings of affection don't go away that easily and even less if the "brother" was a random person a few weeks before. Rui takes a lot of the shit in this show with great confidence and as best as she can, without breaking. Natsuo is a sad man, pretty unfortunate how his life turned up, but instead of tackling this like an adult he dives headfirst into the madness and bathes in it. I'm not even sure if he enjoys the situation or not. Every character can become terrible and Natsuo is such a guy. Diving deeper and deeper in instead of confronting his feelings like a sane person would. In total the entire mess throughout the show is because of him not being brave enough. Lastly, there is Tachibana Hina. A ****. Nah, she isn't that bad, but still pretty bad. A teacher at the school Natsuo and Rui go to, she does have secrets of her own...that obviously get discovered. And after she catches Natsuo's drift she follows his lead into the pits of "This is not okay". There are three other characters and they are far better than these three, buut you should watch for yourself and see how much better those other three classmates are. But they can't save the sinking ship.
Overall Enjoyment & verdict: Despite all this I totally enjoyed this show to the end. It was hard to watch at times but it was kinda worth it and kinda not. It might sound contradicting but I enjoyed this show. As a comedy and as a bad drama for the sake of it being a bad drama. I was eager to see how far the relationships can fall. If the people do even worse things than last episode. It did not disappoint. Honestly, I didn't expect this show to be such a fun shitty ride, but it was. Would I recommend it? Definitely not. If you have enough time to watch this mark my word for it and go take a nap instead. I'm unsure if I will remember this show, probably not.
But I will remember that there was this one show that season that was really dumb and stupid but funny.

Welcome to my review for the anime series "5-Tobun no Haneyome", and the 5 is said in Japanese, so "Go-Tobun". First of all, a few things about the anime. As a standard anime TV series with 12 episodes and around 24 minutes each this show was produced by the studio Tezuka Productions. Never heard of it? No wonder. The track record of this studio is...there. A lot of it very old stuff. From the recent things only Kids on the Slope and Dororo are well-known and in those it just co-produced alongside MAPPA. So it should come as a pleasant surprise that this anime worked.

Or did it? The only thing I can say is that in the western community this show was one of the well-watched ones. People talked about it and watched it. I will tell you know what these reasons might be, or not.
Story/plot: If you spent maybe 10 seconds or less on looking at the cover and maybe even took a look at the genre tags you will understand that this anime is a romcom, a romantic comedy. Some people don't like them so this series won't be for them, but then again I would question why they were here at the reviews in the first place. The story starts with our main protagonist Fuutarou, a high school student with a very eager drive to learn. Learning is basically all he thinks about. But he also has some financial problems so in order to earn some cash he tries himself as a home teacher. Or rather, he gets a job as such. And the ones he has to teach are five girls, quintets. Unfortunately for Fuutarou neither of them seems to be on the receiving end of wanting to learn anything at all. Also because they are somewhat hostile towards him but that fine. Fuutarou is now at a problem: He has to make sure all five don't fail the class or else he will get fired. With no money of course.
Since this is a romcom the experienced watched already knows that sooner or later each of the five girls will end up developing romantic feelings for Fuutarou so a mental fight will eventually happen. But long on behold! This romcom is slightly different than other romcom stuff from the past season. And that is that this show has very little fanservice. Nowadays most romance-oriented anime tend to have a big focus on fanservice. I do not say that I have something against it, but you can overdo it like with everything else. Gotobun does not have that kind of story so that gives it more screen time it can use for characters. This is a good point towards Gotobun; a standard yet pleasant romcom without excessive naked skin. For what it's worth Gotobun tries to do its best at showing how can be good without breasts and co. With only 12 episodes you can imagine that the ending will be open, what a surprise. But in those episodes this series managed to be simple but also engaging, something that other shows somehow can't pull off.
Art: The art in Gotobun is colorful, that's for sure. But the animation is....uhh...well it has its ups and downs. Same with the design. There are moments when the animation and the art looks sloppish and derp. This resulted in lots of memes and whole memes are great they should not come out from bad animation. That's just sad. However, there are some genuinely good shots and still art images throughout the show. All this is possibly due to the studio maybe not having enough money or working with terribly tight schedules. I hope they are alright. At least they didn't include a hidden message somewhere.
Sound: As the sound and the BGM is present (as it should be) nothing truly stands out. And although it does not stand out, as a whole I felt that the music was quite good and at times it was noticeable, yet not enough to be very memorable. As for the opening and ending, I wasnt a fan of either of them but I can appreciate the openingfor what it is and that people like it.
Characters: Ah yes, the characters. The one part that takes over most of this review (hopefully not). Starting off with Fuutarou, our center boy in this show. Always determined to get his good grades so he can get a good job so he can get lots of money so he can pay bills and his sister can live happily. While with the Nakanos he struggles a lot. They are pretty stubborn but maybe he can get them to study as intended. If not, no money for Fuutarou. So he had a genuine determination and goal in his eyes. Throughout the show he begins to learn about those quintuplets. Fuutarou is a good dude. Not so much the first of the girls, Itsuki. A glutton but hard worker. Just, like her sisters she's kinda dumb. And Itsuki is also my personal least favorite of the five. As the Tsundere that she is she can be obnoxious and at some points I have to say that I applauded her decisions and the things she cares about. Next up is Ichika, the seemingly oldest of the bunch (oldest in mind perhaps). Spoilers. I can't talk about her. Oh well, there are still a few to go. Miku is the next one. Very interested into Japanese history she is the first one to warm up a little toward Fuutarou. Always having her headphones with her she actually does not listen to a lot of music, or at least I can remember. Yotsuba is the genki girl of the group. Alwayw cheery and ready to help others. Maybe a bit to much. Last one is Nino and let me tell you! Nino is the best girl, in my opinion. I don't know why but I liked her from the beginning. Very stubborn and hostile towards Fuutarou she does things to tease him; throughout the show she does Wark up herself also though. With such a colorful cast of characters the problems start to appear and Fuutarou is in the middle of that mess.
I know that I described each character barely and that was intentional. The characters are good, that's out of the question. The question is how I should deliver that to the reader, you! The thing with Gotobun is that each character reveals things about herself that i would consider spoilers and during the anime each girl changes, mainly in their view on Fuutarou. I want to write as less spoilers as I can also making this show attractive for others. So I will do exactly that in the last part.
Enjoyment & verdict: Gotobun no Hanayome is a decent romcom with nice characters a likable cast and 'somewhat' believable plot. While it wasn't one of the best shows I've seen that season it was a show that I anticipated each week. I can say that I enjoyed all the way and I am glad to have seen it. I think I'll give Gotobun a clear 7/10. I think that's the score it deserves. As the short anime that it is I think I can recommend it.
And that's it for my 'half-assed' review to Gotobun no Hanayome. I am tired and I want to sleep. Writing reviews is no easy task.

Welcome to my review on the animated series 'Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019)'. Boogiepop, as I will call this series from here on is a remake of the anime with the same name (Boogiepop wa Warawanai) from the year 2000. Just like the older 2000 version this new one is done by the well-known studio MADHOUSE. So instead of the long-awaited sequel to One Punch Man we got this. Is it still any good? That's what I am going to tell. Before that, just the added information that this anime consists of 18 episodes total, each with a runtime of approx. 24 minutes. Usual stuff. As

for the genre Boogiepop should number among horror, sci-fi, mystery, drama, and psychological. Those are pretty good genre types for a good and deep story. Does it deliver? We will soon know, unless you solely rely on the general score of MAL.
Story/plot: It should not surprise any die-hard seasonal watchers when I say that Boogiepop was not well watched among watchers. The fault for that heavily lies on the first three episodes and the follow-up to the fourth one. The reason for why many people seem to dislike the starting episodes is because the small arc of the first three episodes happens after the following fourth (and more) episodes. Meaning that the order of when the episodes happen is distorted and not linear. Not only that but the first three episodes also have a non-linear course of events. That resulted in many people getting confused over what actually happens, why it does and how. After those episodes of course everything is in the clear, unless the watcher missed something shown.
What I am going to talk about now is the general story of this show. To start with, the anime does not have one single plot but multiple ones regarding different events and things that happen. In the middle of all this is Boogiepop a mysterious someone who is called the Grim Reaper why those who talk about it. Who is Boogiepop? That is a spoiler. What does Boogiepop? That...is a spoiler! Let's just say that Boogiepop is an entity in the world of this anime that fights against so-called 'Enemies of humanity'. Those are individuals who according to Boogiepop pose a threat to the entire humanity, thus the "Grim Reaper" fights them off and is ready to even kill them.
That is basically everything that I can say without getting into minor or major spoilers which I am trying to avoid. The story of this anime is not a psychological sci-fi horror mystery without a reason. There are questions the characters and so also the viewer has reading what happens or is about to. Therefore I can not talk about that. All I can say is that I liked each arc and what it tried to convey.
Art: Simple, yet effective. The Boogiepop anime does not have grand and spectacular animations. Except during some action scenes, oh boy. I hear people call it monotonous because of the facial features of thw characters. It seems they are to spoiled. People do have a normal face, most of us at least. A regular human does not look like model or have really recognizable features. The art does not look bad at all and at times when it is more hectic the animation becomes even better.
Sound: Pretty good SFX and good BGM, just not something you would remember. On the other side we a great ending and lkng on behold an amazing opening by the legendary Myth & Roid. [shadowgraph] is a song to remember. It is a great song and easily became my favorite opening of the season. Myth & Roid, you have outdone yourselves.
Characters: Naming each and every character is not needed, and it would be way to much. The three most important charcaters from my view were obviously Boogiepop but also Kirima Nagi the "Fire Witch" and Niitoki Kei. Starting with Boogiepop the name-giver of this show. Boogiepop is a character who at first is mostly for the cause of eradicating the threat that the "enemy" is. But throughout the episodes it finds more of its personality, or maybe they were there all along. Kirima Nagi decided after the death of her father to pursue crime and the supernatural. While it's always good to get physically and/or mentally strong female characters it not very great to see that you won't get a lot of screen time of her, at least not as much as I had hoped for. Niitoki Kei or Kazuko Sue a, whichever of the two you choose, both are mentally strong and intelligent characters who look for the mysterious and the crimes of others. Solving the puzzles in front of them so to speak. Although there is not much that I said about only those charcaters, each and every important one shows what their thoughts are. Or maybe not?
Overall enjoyment and verdict: Boogiepop wa Warawanai seems to have a bad reputation. But what I found was a hidden gem. A truly great and interesting mystery with psychological questions and thoughts. Someone like me who enjoys such stories loved it through the end. I would have loved to see more about Boogiepop and how awesome it is. But one can only dream. If you also like psychological stuff and some epsidoes you can think about while watching this will be one you probably like. The core of this show undeniably lies within the thoughtful context of what everything means. What the arc is actually about. I enjoyed it thoroughly and can only recommend it.

Welcome to my review of the anime 'Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken", often also just called "the Slime anime". This anime is produced by the studio 8bit and it consists of 24 epsidoes, originally 25. The last episode became a special which I am also talking about in this review at its end. The studio 8bit is more or less unknown and rarely comes to attention with a great anime title, if at all. Only three anime they previously did have recognition in the anime community; those being Infinite Stratos, Rewrite, and the most known of all three, Grisaia no Kajitsu (Fruit of Grisaia). This

pretty dry track record might end now. Studio 8bit might find themselves on more contracts after they landed a massive hit with 'That time I got reincarnated as a Slime'. Slime has become a save watch for the last two seasons it aired. Mostly everyone watched this show and just as many praised it. But is the praise justified or this just another overhyped anime title like many others before?
Story/plot: Before saying anything, let start with that this anime is an Isekai. I will trust you that you know what that word means in this community. The story starts with Mikami Satoru, a regular everyday nice guy who just happens to get stabbed in the back by a robber out of unfortunate events. What continues is Satoru being reincarnated as a Slime in a Fantasy World. It starts in a cave where he gradually evolves by absorbing and killing various things and creatures. At one point it ends up meeting the storm dragon Veldora who is locked in that cave thanks to a spell. The Slime and the Dragon Form a friendship and give each others names. From then on they are Veldora and Rimuru Tempest. And from that day on Rimuru ends up helping others and bukding up relationships with other creatures.
So what is this anime about? To steal the words of others I say "This is not an Isekai, this is Civilization The Anime". And truly, the anime actually feels more like a civilization building game than an Isekai anime. Even past the civilization point Slime Datta Ken is surprisingly tame when it comes to the themes. Don't get me wrong, there is violence! But the theme and atmosphere of the anime is more or less very friendly and upbeat; something rare these days.
Art: The artstyle of Slime Datta Ken is very soft and light. The surrounding and background have a watercolor vibe to them. The characters also look pretty decent. Fighting animation was throughout the show really solid and sometimes even high quality. I don't remember the show dropping in quality at any point but I could have missed it.
Sound: Openings and Endings were solid, the ending more than the Openings. As far as my personal taste goes both the second OP and ED were the better ones. BGM was also solid but nothing stuck with me. SFX were of course there but I don't remember anything worth noting.
Characters: There are a lot of characters. A lot. Listing everyone is a bit tiring and most of them aren't worth even mentioning. The one and only one worth mentioning is the main character itself, Rimuru Tempest. Carried over from his past life Rimuru still has all his emotions, memories and self. Through these we learn Rimuru's personality. A fellow who likes peace and dislikes conficts and problems. All in all every character is fairly plain and easy constructed. Slime Datta Ken is not a deep anime do it does not need deep anime.
Enjoyment & verdict (of the main show): I'd say I overall really enjoyed the anime and it was a fun and cool ride. Slime is not the next big thing but it does what it does right. Being a nice more relaxed show is a good change for once. Now do I recommend it? Yes, I would say I recommend it as it is a nice show to watch and for what it does it's a good show. I give this anime an 8/10.
OVA verdict: Nice finisher for the show but overall unimportant and only slighly funny. If you have the time you can enjoy this last last episode, otherwise you are not going to miss anything amazing or groundbreaking.

The season is over and with that I have to write a ton of reviews..sigh.
So let's begin with a bang. This review is about the anime 'Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru'. It is animated by the studio Production I. G., a studio that exceeds in making great sports anime. And this is one of them. The anime consists of 23 episodes and now that that's all out of the way, to the review!
Plot/Story: The story revolves around a group of 10 guys who follow a goal of running in the Hakone Ekiden, a running spectacle only the best runners can get qualified for. It all starts
...
with Kiyose Haiji witnessing a guy running away from a convenient store after he stole something from there. Haiji immediately follows the guy with his bicycle and asks him right away if he likes running. This thief is Kurahara Kakeru, one of the key plot points in this show. After some events Haiji who wants to run in the Hakone Ekiden manages to get together 9 other guys to complete the minimum number of team members for a track field club. With those 9 Haiji goes into training in order to get the participation.
So the plot doesn't sound very amazing but that's okay. A goal doesn't have to be incredibly amazing. It is the journey to that goal that is of importance, that forms you into the human being that you are going to be at the end when you reach your goal. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru, or with its English title 'Run with the Wind' is about that journey, about the commitment to a goal. While the core plot isn't anything masterful the anime thrives from its rich characters and their story, their reason. On the other spectrum one needs to have good writing skills to construct a story with a simple concept but with a build of characters (or other aspects) that are strong enough to support the simple story and and make it into what it becomes in the end.
Art: There are two reasons why this anime looks so good. 1st. It's done by Production I. G. and 2nd. It's a sports anime done by Production I. G. This studio is very well known for another great sports anime called 'Haikyuu'. They also were responsible for the sports anime 'Ballroom e Youkoso', both shows being great sports anime. I. G. is the king of anime when it comes to sports anime. Honestly they should animated all sports anime, period. Because of them the animation and artstyle is the same as Haikyuu and Ballroom, so if you like that style and you probably are then you will like this show's artstyle as well. Because it's the same. Production I. G. as they are in their regular fashion don't lower down on the quaility of animation or artstyle. There isn't a single drop in quality that I could find. That's not something that's a given in the anime industry, especially when nowadays it's more quantity over quality. There is CGI involved in the show but only for cars or background runners. This makes it easier on the animation and drawing board team. Thankfully they didn't settle for bad CGI and they don't feel out of place.
Sound: Sound is great, honestly. Both openings and endings are greatly chosen and the BGM is equally as good. Talking about the sound in an anime is often not as easy as the others because the only things you can say about Run with the Wind is that it has good musical compositions and all that, but after watching the show it did not stick out in that.
Characters: This is the best part of the show and I feel it's one the points I can talk least about. All 10 teammates and even other charcaters would deserve to be talked about big style. But that would just increase the length of this review needlessly. Therefore I will try to limit it as much as I can. All characters are rich in personality and ambitions. In favor of the plot all the charcaters are in college which is a very refreshing change for once. Haiji is a man with a big but small dream. And for that dream he looked for people he could achieve that with. The sport is the main center of the anime and the characters do that sport. Around and during all this each of the characters has to come to terms with their own inner conflicts. Obstacles they have to overcome. It didn't feel at all that any of the teammates got less screen time than the others. Each one was highlighted at at times where it was needed. Everyone was important for the story, for the team. Kakeru, one of the more central points in the show. A great runner with a love for running. But his love comes into conflict with himself. At times like these it is to lean on others for help. The characters are all equally as strong.
Enjoyment & verdict: One of the best sports anime I have ever seen and possibly one of the best sports anime out there. I was deeply motivated by the show, I even started to run a bit myself. And when the sports anime manages to make you interested in the sport itself then it achieved exactly what it wanted to. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode of this show and I am quite sad it's already over. A truly great show. I highly recommend everyone to watch this show. It is one of the best things to have come out in the last year, maybe even last two.

This will be my review on the 'Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei Specials', or just 'Tatami Galaxy Specials'. First of, the Specials are done also my MADHOUSE, so the studio did not change. There are 3 Special episodes in total, each of them lasting around 6 minutes and 40 seconds. So they are not that long, really. I've seen that most reviews here are somehow rather negative and after watching the three episodes I can understand why they would think it but if I share this thought or not, that I will show you now. So let's begin.
Plot/Story: I am honestly not sure where these OVAs
...
are supposed to happen in the timeline of the anime. In the end I think it is best to watch them after the anime. Our well-known cast is sitting in a room and telling each other stories. We'll, 3 stories to be exact...Anyway. Actually that's all you need to know about the plot. The cast is telling each other 3 stories in total, those stories differing in most aspects but keeping one particular thing the same: The appearance of a submarine.
While the main anime is great these episodes are more or less like leftovers from episodes. There isn't any grand plot in them, they are merely there to entertain the viewer who just has watched the main series. Still, each of the three episodes holds some kind of philosophical value. At least I think so, kinda.
Art: Not as polished as the main series, but that's probably the point. Each episode is colored in one single color pattern, each. First episode is blue, the second is red, and the third is white. Why these colors? I have no idea but I'm pretty sure there's a meaning behind that. The artstyle and animation is fairly simple and not refined in any way. I suppose that's also not needed since the focus of these episodes lies in their telling of the story that is unfolding as we watch. Pretty art and animation is not needed. Of course it doesn't look ugly in any way, it's just simple. But even though it is simple it has a certain Charme. One that regular animation and standard art cannot compare to.
Sound: There are no intro or outro songs in these episodes. Doing so would restrict the runtime of the actual content even further so they probably just deemed it not needed. As for sound effects and background music, I feel like it's the same as in the main series. They underline the absurdity of the events and in these three episodes they are not overboard with the music, if at all.
After all, it's the story that is important. Not the sound, or art.
Characters: The characters haven't changed, at all. And that's good. For almost 7 minutes runtime you don't really want the characters from the main show who all already have established character traits to change. Especially in this case they are just telling stories. They do not affect the actual plot in the slightest and are just there to be fun.
At the end though, they are still the same quirky and fun characters that they are, and they are fun to watch.
Enjoyment & verdict: Yes, of course I enjoyed watching it. I did like the main series so liking this one shouldn't come as a surprise. For what it's worth these roughly 19 minutes we're enjoyable and I do not regret watching them. I give this OVA a 7/10 since it was good. That's all I can say. And that's it.

This will be my review to the anime 'Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei', also more well-known as 'The Tatami Galaxy'. From this point on I will refer to this anime as Tatami Galaxy. of anime industries biggest geniuses, and I am not exaggerating in the slightest. Tatami Galaxy has long since been established as a anime high elitist anime. By that I mean an anime that's been associated as a high-grade masterpiece. Now that I've rambled enough, let's get to this.
Plot/Story: Without spoiling anything of the plot twists or anything similar; the story revolves around Watashi, a young man who just entered the high-school life. Shortly, he is during one visit at a local ramen stall being accompanied by a strange man who tells him he will bind either Watashi or Ozu to Atashi as a love partner with the thread of love. Atashi is a pretty girl with black hair who Watashi has fallen for. Ozu, on the other side is a fellow he met and befriended during his high-school life.
Each episode shows Watashi taking another route in his life, choosing a different club he joins during that time.
While the story isn't as grand as it seems, it gets better. Trust me. And that's actually all I can say without spoiling too much. The core of this anime lies in the characters anyway.
Art: Just outstanding. It is not any downright expensively detailed anime, it is the art of the anime that is typical for Yuasa that gives this anime the high art quality it deserves. The opening and ending are also both very stylish and fit the anime well.
Sound: Apart from the heavily SFX-based sound both the opening and ending song are great. They reflect the nature of the anime. I have nothing to say against it.
Characters: Yes, the characters. The heart of this show. As well as the message this anime delivers through the main character Watashi. Easily influenced and easy to forget important things or to not see things as clearly as they are. Ozu, a fiendish man who lives to make other people's lives miserable. Often described as a man-yokai. Akashi, an ambitious young woman who does what she does best. Working seriously. She's like the type of girl who once she gets into something she is determined to do it with her all. Even if it's a bit stupendous. There are of course a few more characters in this but describing them as well is 1. too much for this review and 2. takes away from experiencing them yourself. This is supposed to be just a small appetizer to start watching the show. So go watch it!
Enjoyment & verdict: Yes, of course I enioyed it. I gave it a high 9/10. Some people might lynch be for not giving it a round 10 but that's just how it is. Deal with it. I also do recommend it but only to veterans in the anime fandom. This might be an anime that would scare away beginners with its fast pacing, tons of dialogue and weirdness. Tatami Galaxy is not an anime I can easily describe for a spoiler-free review. Trust me in that this show is truly a good one. The score on MAL does not lie this time, it's even not high enough. I know this is a bit of a half-assed review but this is the best that I can do right now.
Tatami Galaxy is great.

Welcome to my review to the 2018 movie 'Penguin Highway'. It's runtime is almost 2 hours so be prepared for it. For this review I will try to limit myself from giving spoilers as much as I can. Before I forget it, this movie is done by Studio Colorado.
Plot/Story: Aoyama is a very intelligent kid. He always looks for experiments and things he does not yet know. One day however, something very unusual happens. Penguins. In the middle of an empty field. As out of nowhere penguins appear everywhere in the city and Aoyama and his friends try to solve this experiment. Oh, and there

is also an older girl that is friends with Aoyama and asks him to solve a certain puzzle, a mystery for her.
Now that the synopsis is out of the way, let's get this bread. This plot and movie is crazy. A lot of very weird and fascinating things happen and Aoyama and his friends get entangled into these mysteries. I won't spoil any plot-related things but it's a wild ride. That much I can say. There are also things that not necessarily make a lot of sense, even after the end of the movie. But that's okay. This movie is not immensely deep but it also doesn't want to be that. This movie exists to be a fun and weird movie. Something exciting and fantastic.
Art: Outstanding. There are a large number of beautiful shots throughout this movie and you can feel how caring the guys behind this anime were. One certain segment at the end of the movie is just breathtakingly beautifully animated. It's a fest for the eyes.
Sound: Very beautiful compositions throughout the movie. Not really heavy-hitting on the SXF side this movie proves its worth with good music and BGM underlining each moment. Also one shout out to the beautiful outro song.
Characters: Let's start with Aoyama. An intelligent young boy, always striving for more knowledge. During this movie Aoyama experiences a number of events switching from normal to unknown, to hurtful. It is Aoyama who gets his whole share of emotions and strong moments, especially towards the finish line of this movie. The next import St character is Onee-san. She doesn't have a name and is just called Onee-san or the dentist's wife. I will call her Onee from this point on. Onee amrks the second most impactful and important person in this. Most importantly her relationship with Aoyama. It is very apparent that Aoyama likes Onee, even though their age different is....more than 10 years possibly. If some viewers might find this weird and unsettling I found it to be actually normal. It is perfectly normal at some point to suddenly be attracted to the opposite sex. Onee's importance in this movie is on the same level as Aoyama, heck they are both on the cover. The personality changes she gets throughout the almost 2 hours are significant and almost always, if not always affect also Aoyama. Other than those two we have Aoyama's male friend Uchida and the classmate Hamamoto. Uchida is a wkmp, that pretty much sums him up. At the end he does make one thing outside of his character symbolizing his growth, but since the focus is not on him at all he is pretty much irrelevant. Hamamoto on the other hand is I would say the next important character. She's really good at chess and is also very intelligent, just as Aoyama. Even thought she's also just a side character she does have a more significant role in this than Uchida. But because of spoilers I can't tell. I can just say that she more or less acts human. As one should. There's also the class bully Suzuki but he's pretty unimportant in a lot of ways.
Overall Enjoyment and verdict: Penguin Highway is an amazing movie. Exactly my kind of weird but beautiful movie. There isn't really a grand thing to get from this movie. The reason you want to watch this is because it is a fantastical experience of a pretty movie with likeable characters and a cool and freaky plot. I give this movie an outstanding 9,5/10!!!

Welcome to my review to the movie 'Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: Reflection'.
THIS MOVIE IS PART 1 OF A 2 COUR MOVIE WHICH MEANS THAT THIS MOVIE HAS A OPEN END THAT CONTINUES IN THE NEXT MOVIE.
Okay, now that that is out of the way, let's get to this. Nanoha Reflection is a movie from 2017, made by the studio Seven Arcs Pictures. It's runtime is about and hour and 45 minutes. I don't have to mention it but just in case I still gonna: This movie is part of the Lyrical Nanoha franchise. Yoh have to watch the Nanoha stuff before watching this movie.

More specifically, this movie happens between the second and third season of Lyrical Nanoha. Now to the review. Also this will contain spoilers for Lyrical Nanoha S1 and 2.
Story/Plot: The story revolves around the sisters Amitie and Kyrie. Their father is dying from an unknown disease and Kyrie with the help of her AI Iris she sets out to earth in order to find ways to heal her sick father. Doing so she does considerable damage and this sets out Nanoha, Fate, Hayate and Co. to go stop and arrest her. But not everything works out as planned. Who would've thought?
To sort out what I just wrote, we have simple story of a person wanting to save someone and in order to do that that person does not hold back on even hurting others. In a previous review to the MHA movie I noted that it didn't really do anything great because as a franchise movie it has things it cannot do. This however does not count for this movie. Reason for that is that this movie is canon and depicts the incident that happened in the time between Lyrical Nanoha Season 2 and 3. Another aspect is that this movie is only the first part and that the second one still has to be released. Because of the third season we know that none of the main cast is going to die and also we know or can suspect that this movie and the following one show the origin of what leads to season 3. There isn't a whole lot you can do in these almost 2 hours. More so, this movie relies on the established cast only introduces a few new ones.
Art: Seven Arcs shows fluid animation and pretty nice action scenes. Nothing bad here at all. What we have here is a very familiar Nanoha artstyle and great action scenes. What more can you hope?
Sound: The sound...Yeah. Always a difficult point. The music and sound effects in this movie are there, that much is clear. But I didn't really pay that much attention on them. One thing I can point out is the ending song that is pretty good.
Characters: Man, it's been so long since I've seen the last Nanoha anime. I must say, it was great seeing everyone again. This movie definitely had me on the nostalgia level. Other than that, we do have our typical characters we all know and love. Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate are all a bit older now (not yet adults) and we get to see the development of Fate and her foster mother, as well as Nanoha's growth as an OP person who can destroy anyone. We also get to see the 3 new characters Amitie, Kyrie and Iris. I can't really go into detail here because of spoilers but I can say that their story is not yet over and will continue in the next movie. What we saw so far, Amitie is a pretty nice character and Kyrie is blinded by her cause. Things I have already seen in other anime. The main reason for this movie is to fill in a missing link in the anime apartment and satisfy our nostalgia.
Overall Enjoymenf and verdict: It's Nanoha, of course im gonna enjoy it. A very entertaining movie and a nostalgia syringe. I kind of feel like Seven Arcs depended on that nostalgia. Anyhow. I can totally recommend this movie to Nanoha fans. They gotta have to watch this movie. For everyone else, I recommend you watching the whole Nanoha series first and then watch this, or watch this after watching the second season. Anyway, that is it for my review on this movie.
