Obviously taking its name and many of the characters from the series of visual novels, it does divert from it in several crucial ways, creating a pretty standard anime with a little bit of fan service in.

Unlike like the visual novels, these stories in this series are unrelated, so there is no real character development or leading towards anything. Whilst both have some humour (with it being more subtle in the visual novels), these episodes went out of it's way to be comedic, which is a shame, as a lot of the societal problems and prejudices the cats face are barely mentioned.

A very nicely animated series of five minute shorts, that, instead of camping this time, involves a Stamp Rally (which also includes visiting - and sampling - the local sights).

Story-wise, it's nice and simple with a slight twist at the end, although it does naturally lead to the next season.

It's all very light and comedic, but unfortunately doesn't including any camping. However, the sights they do get to see are interesting - especially the food sampling.

Music is great as usual, and animation is of the same high quality as the first series.

Just a shame each episode is so short, but otherwise read more

Following pretty much the same routine as the first series, but with something new added this time : A little bit of drama.

On the whole, this series was a bit more serious than last time, and as such wasn't quite as funny, due to the aforementioned drama, especially for the last episode.

It was nice to see more of the other characters as well and their antics - some of their stories were very amusing.

The title and ending music for this series wasn't as good as in the first, which was a shame but does fit the slightly slower pace for each story.

The animation was just read more

After a long wait (complete with a few delays to boot), the last two episodes have arrived with little in the way of fanfare. So, has it been worth it ?

Obviously, for those who didn't like the series to start with, would obviously say "no", but for completionists and those who did enjoy it would say "Yes, but..."

Story-wise it was a bit rushed, with a fair bit left out (no actual fight against the Germans, for example), and there were few sudden developments that just came out of nowhere (much like Lynne's abuse), but overall it did its best to finish the series that read more

A rather clever way of telling a story : A quasi-first person drama set against a backdrop of three girls each with their own problems.

The protagonist is both silent and absent, so you don't always know whether the person you are speaking to is helped (or hindered) until they reply. However, from the replies the girls give to silent answers he does appear to be hard-working (possibly over-doing it) and kind-hearted, possibly to a fault, and a bit of a pervert.

The three characters you meet are all very nice, and all have problems which you help to solve - one way or another.

Essentially two short and completely different episodes in one, the first continues where the series left off and shows what did (and didn't) happen in the "excite" room, whilst the second has the poor old protagonist suffering under the girls misinterpretations of "ball" games

The first part is certainly better than the second, both with the story and the animation, with the latter being a bit too tortuous and seemingly losing a bit of quality in the animation department.

Well worth seeing, if only for the concluding part of the main series

Sound and music is just fine, with the usual title and end credit music.

To start with, it's a shame there are only 3 episodes - this would have made a good series, even if it had only lasted one cour.

The animation (unlike the specials), is pretty good considering the age, with all the characters nicely... defined...

There is no real title sequence, but the end music is quite good.

It operates on two levels : The most basic being Ane see's her brother as a pervert obsessing over her, and the efforts she goes to try and stop his desires, no matter how innocent they may be.

The other level is a bit darker : She is a psychotic and having read more

First there was the rather good (and very short) series. And then there was this... Unfortunately...

First off, it doesn't really have anything to do with the series - there is a history less, gym session and a talk-in style episode. Only the latter two really continue with Ane's obsession with her brother, and then only slightly, and amongst much filler.

Aside from that, there is also the animation problem - basically Flash based animation, done on the cheap. Whilst the characters certainly look like they do in the main series, there is also a lack of definition and of course restricted movement.

This could be regarded as the camping equivalent to Takunomi, but instead of trying to get everyone completely blotto on the drink-of-the-week, this gets people exciting about camping, both as a solo activity and as a group one. As an advertisement for said activity and all the required equipment, it does an exceedingly good job.

There is one series-long story (of which you see the result of in the first episode), and whilst most episodes are individually linked, you do see the main story being built up over all the episodes.

The characters themselves are very nice with individual characteristics, who all compliment each other very read more

This is actually quite a bit better than the main series.

Whilst the animation is still pretty poor, the story itself, whilst not great, is a lot better than most of those found in the series, probably helped by having fewer characters and having a linear and progressive story. It also introduces a bit more of what the series lacked badly : Drama

The title and end credit sequences are kept (which is nice), and the ending does allow a new character to be "introduced" if a new series had been commissioned.

Worth watching if you managed to complete the series, but if not, then read more
