There are literally hundreds of anime I've had on the back burner for that long if not longer. Shorter ones, that I'm more likely to enjoy

Mushishi has been on my back-burner for like 8 years.

Well, we all know why Brotherhood is great. I'd rather discuss one of my favorites that you don't have on yours, and why.

Nah, editing the review is a good thing. I've been working on writing a Tatami review since I watched it, but I can't get passed the first sentence because it's just so hard to describe aptly. So... anything in my favorites or on my list you'd like to discuss?
Wyatt Feb 15, 2016 4:33 AM
Definitely divide it into more paragraphs. Very fair point about finding the theme for themselves: It's a huge aspect of Tatami to find that out when the show wants you to, and I'm glad you pointed that out. My mistake. I recommend checking out the reviews of ZephSilver, Digibro and well... me, if you want a good sense of multiple styles and such that you could write with, which helps a lot in nailing down your own unique style. You seem like a really cool guy, I'd love to see where your reviews go from here. I got your back now. *reaches out hand for handshake*

In your review of Tatami, you tend to make very vague positive statements, without explaining what they MEAN. "The visuals of this anime is very unique. It uses a abstract art style." instead of saying "Youjouhan uses a wide variety of visual styles, but the most consistent of them is sketch-like, very colorful, and often quickly paced. The mix of different styles, particularly in the finale, was very refreshing."

You also tend to repeat yourself. "The characters were introduced excellently. At the first sight, they may seem slightly one dimensional, but as time passes, we get to know more and more about them. The flat characters starts getting more and more real, more relatable, more multidimensional." In addition to having the same problem as earlier, this statement also repeats it self. The second sentence here is great, and if you had just gotten rid of the other two, it'd be all fine and dandy.

Also, just as a huge fan of the show: You missed the most important theme. "Reach out and grab what's in front of you"

Anyway, you are just getting started reviewing, so Im not trying to be mean here. Im trying to teach you, for future reviews. I've been reviewing shows here on MAL for 2 years, and reviewing at all for 5 years. People doing stuff like this is the road to improvement. Anyway, glad you watched and enjoyed Tatami. It's a real great one,.
