Ooh I saw your story some time ago and you said that you've finished Inside Mari. But yeah same for me, Aku no Hana is still my favorite out of all his works so far...Chi no Wadachi is pretty cool too, I read around 50-ish chapters but stopped before I could get addicted to it haha bcs it was still ongoing. What do you like abt Aku no Hana? I love the r/im14andthisisdeep energy, and my fav character is weirdly Nakamura. I'm sure the quintessential reader goes through the same phases too- from hating Nakamura, to understanding her, then to still hating her anyway, but then the timeskip rolls in and you can't help but like her. Oh and what was you fav half? I personally love the first half much more than I do the second, though I noticed the majority of the fandom liked the second arc more. I see why tho...the second half is more emotional and wholesome while the first half is just weird.

Ahhh I really want to get started on Solanin soon. I haven't found a manga that can truly be said to have 'changed my life' or even made reflect and look back on my life, but animanga in itself has changed my views and myself slightly. If it didn't make me introspect, then it definitely did made me reflect on the people around me and 'society'- which all the psychological animanga seem to complain abt.

I finished Homunculus not too long ago and damn the ending hit hard. But the rest of the story is still beyond me- it's too bizarre and confusing. I really appreciate this manga tho, it's cool and very thought-provoking, but it just didn't do it for me. I like Aku no Hana more, but I definitely pick the Homunculus ending over Aku no Hana's :) It's so weird though, and I didn't understand what was happening as I was reading it and that just pissed me off. It's weird though, so weird, maybe even weirder than Aku no Hana since to me it's more psychological.

As for Punpun I'm in the process of reading it rn, but I left at chapter 80-ish a few weeks ago and I'll pick it up again very soon. But so far Punpun was...idk how to put it but now that I'm on a break from the manga I can view the work collectively and be very impressed with the storyline and the art as a whole, but as I was reading it I didn't feel that way at all smh.

Trying to become an adult while still feeling like you're a teenager...well I think feeling and thinking like one doesn't really matter, as long as you have matured in some ways like being more responsible and have better time management. If you've done these things then you won't feel pressured to 'act like an adult' bcs you know you've fulfilled your responsibilities. Other than that then I don't see why it's such a bad thing :)

Haha well the bl that I recommended is a pretty fucked up one, and not in a gross, oversexualized way but in a freaky, psychological way. The story is great in itself save for the smut scenes, I guess. You could say it's a great story disguised as a yaoi. It's the same as 'a great story disguised as a hentai' haha. But I get that you're not into that kinda stuff tho.

Hmmm if I were to give another rec then I guess you could try watching Colorful, it's an anime movie, I really liked it. It's psychological and the art is pretty cool. I also found a manga by the names of Ultra-heaven a few days ago, and I'm thissss close to reading it but I have other priorities rn so I can't but if you wish give it a try and let me know what you think. It gave me Homunculus vibes, and I know that it for sure is a psychological manga.

I'm really sorry for responding almost a month later lmao, your comment got drowned in other comments so I just forgot. I hope this long message compensates :D

Hey I came from your IG and I saw you mentioned that you planned to read Inside Mari. Just finished it a few months ago, and honestly it was pretty cool. Beside Aku no Hana it honestly dulls in comparison, but it was still an interesting read.

I'm pretty sure you also mentioned that The Climber, Solanin, etc. changed your life, and I haven't gotten around to reading it yet but I will eventually, I'm reading Homunculus and Oyasumi Punpun right now, simultaneously, along with The World Only God Knows (I know this manga doesn't fit in but whatever :D)

I've read Homunculus until volume 12-ish, and so far I'm having mixed feelings, I get the overall storyline and the gist of it but some parts just left me really confused, like the time Nakoshi sewed his eyes shut and was confronting the other guy, like that scene was just complete nonsense. I guess it's pretty interesting but it's not compelling enough, like what Aku no Hana did to me. Same goes for Goodnight Punpun, it's a great manga if I actually think about the storyline and envision it as a whole but whilst I was reading it, it was just...okay. For me it was missing something in the presentation probably, but I have no idea what. The only psychological manga that I've read so far that I actually LOVE is Aku no Hana, albeit I probably haven't read enough psychological seinen to say for sure. But unlike the manga I'm reading rn, Aku no Hana gripped me from start to end, that's probably why I love it.

(Sorry if I creeped you out back there lmao)
