Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled with the Nausicaa film, I thought it had so much scope to do more (not that it isn't good, it's quite decent, but not the usual Miyazaki level of good, y'know? Still better than Howl though). Sounds like the manga delivers, I'll look forward to reading it.
That's reassuring. I've heard a few hardcore manga readers talk about the inherent realism of his works, and I'm definitely intrigued. Maybe gonna start with Shirayukihime, it's written by Koike, who also wrote Lone Wolf and Cub which I really like - and I found out the ending to Kill Bill references it (quite evident from the cover tbh). Anyway, yeah, I'm hoping for great things.
I've watched the Nausicaa film, but how does the manga compare to it? I've also got my eye set on Kamimura, I've heard quite the praise for him and his works, particularly Dousei Jidai.
