"Hotaubi ni Mori e" is quite simply a masterpiece. If you have not already seen it then you definitely should.

The story is rather simple, it is about a girl, Hotaru, who gets lost in a forest and there she meets a young boy, Gin. However she cannot touch him, or else he will disappear. This is very simplistic but it works extremely well, as you see how the two characters must develop their relationship around this fact. The running time is only about 45 minutes, but this also works greatly in its favour as there is never a dull moment. It is a short and ... heart warming story that will have you shedding a river of tears by the end.

The art is quite simplistic, but this isn't a bad thing, it fits the story very well and is very beautiful at times. The art also fits very well with the sound, which is exceptional. It fits each scenario perfectly and makes the emotional moments that much more special.

The art, sound and story all work very well together to create one of the most touching anime I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Overall, I believe that "Hotarubi no Mori e" should be watched by all. It is extremely enjoyable and I doubt you will be able to stop thinking about it for a while after watching. The ending is extremely emotional and will most likely leave a long lasting impression on you.

So, as I have said before, this is a masterpiece and I believe that everyone should have the pleasure of watching it.
