How I Rate!
My thoughts on Shingeki No Kyojin:
Shingeki No Kyojin really deserves a 10/10. I mean, it has everything. An interesting and unique story, filled with action and suspense, a variety of likable characters that meet their full potential which means they show a great character development, twists, brilliant music and fitting sound effects and i love love love the art. Seriously, the animation is great. This anime was one of the best animes of the year for sure, if not the best. And it's definitely NOT overrated as it made 2013 such a memorable year.
My thoughts on Death Note:
I remember myself how desperate I was to watch the next episodes of this anime. Seriously, it was back then when I was not sure what anime even was. You got that right. Death Note was my first anime but was full of suspense and action and the characters were so much interesting that it immediately dragged me to the world of anime. The game beetween two terrific existences with different beliefs and strategies was what Death Note was all about. I still admire the main characters' intelligence and I recall its awesome moments. And then boom. (We all know what that boom means) Yes, I was dissapointed as well. Yes, I didn't want my Death Note to "change" but saddly it did, so that's why it doesn't get a 10/10 from me, even if it definitely had the qualifications. But it will always be one of my favourites, not only because it was a great adaptation, not only because of the superb job its creators did, its beautiful art, its splendid flow etc. but also because it introduced me to the anime world and that's highly important to me as it directly connects to who I am today and what kind of person I'll be in the future. That's why I apreciate Death Note so much.
My thoughts on Higurashi:
I have to say that this anime was, well deceiving. So, why is it my #1 by far? Well, because it's probably the best ( no, i'm not exaggerating) of its genre. The characters were all good, there were few good times and many bad times. Well, A LOT of bad times. One of the best things about Higurashi was how confused I was and how baka(=stupid) I felt while watching it. Also, about the deceiving part. Do you see those faces? Do you see them? Well, it's not your kind of a Slice of Life anime watching a bunch of kids doing stuff. Neither your typical Comedy and School anime. It's something more, no. It's actually the different. Now, check the tags. Yes, it says "Mystery, Horror, Supernatural, Psychological, Thriller". See? Well, you can't imagine what is waiting for you if you decide to catch up with it. Are you planning on watching it soon? Well, prepare for something out of your mind. Trust me, if you're into this kind of anime and you don't mind the gore part (uh-huh) I'm 10000000% sure you'll love Higurashi.
My thoughts on Kaichou Wa Maid-sama:
Omg this anime. It was the first one that made me ROFL for real. Everytime I was watching it on my computer my mum kept asking me "are you ok?" YES. This anime. What? You're not into Comedy/Romance animes? Don't worry neither was I. I don't usually watch those kinds of animes. I prefer watching psychopaths killing with no shame and fear and breathtaking Action animes than watching couples doing stuff(I like Romance too, but not all the time though, haha) Still, the "romance" part in Maid-sama! is not very intense, as the comedy. Guys, are you listening? Oh, so you noticed the "Shoujo" tag.. So now you consider this anime twice as boring. That was me as well before checking out Maid-sama. Seriously, I wasn't expecting this anime to be that h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s. I don't know about other Comedy/Romance animes, but this one was really special. And what I liked more was that it didn't need to be perverted so it can draw attention or become "funnier" or something, like the most anime creators do with their animes. Kaichou wa Maid-sama was a "clear" 10/10 anime as it made me laugh with its original sense of humor without using fanservice and I recommend it to everybody. I don't know about the manga but the story was pretty tied up so it was a good adaptation for me and that's really important. Oh, and one last thing, it might be 10 times funnier than your typical plain comedy anime and no, I'm not exaggerating again. Watch even 1 episode of it so you can see for yourself what I was talking about. :)
Now, in general I use 10 to rate any animes that have been good adaptations which means that have as less plot holes as it's possible, shapely art, likeable characters (very important), an interesting and unique story and a flow that keeps you stuck to them from the very start till the very end.
How I feel about 10/10 animes? Well, they are forever in my heart. I recommend them to all of the humanity as I scream whenever I come across of their characters on the net and I badlywantneed more. Be it season, be it specials, be it ovas, be it movies, I just live with hope that they'll make more (9)
Great job on it, though it lacked few things(not very important, though) (8)
Really enjoyable to watch, higher than average :D (7)
Average to good :) (6) and below
Pretty boring, nothing special. It lacked almost everything an anime must have and definitely NOT recommended.
