This manga, Nana to Kaoru and its sidestory, Nana to Kaoru Arashi, are the top two favorites out of all I have ever read. The mangaka, Amazume Ryuta-sensei, is an outstanding and prolific artist and author, one of my best mangaka IMHO, though in making a 24-minute long OVA was great mistake.

On a stand alone, one-shot OVA, it was fine work, I would guess, though leaving me wanting for more to follow. But to make such a short, one-shot episode based on the works published to date of release? Cruel and unusual punishment, there was nothing we, the audience and followers of Amazume-sensei and ... fans of the Nana to Kaoru series, did that deserved this form of punishment-game.

I do not know the minutia that went into the adaptation and manipulation of the storyline to this short episode, nor why it was a one-shot, though to make a stronger showing of the Nana to Kaoru universe, there is a crying out to make at least a 24-episode series.

The best, my favorite by far, in the realm of manga, are the two series put out by my favorite mangaka*: Nana to Kaoru and Nana to Kaoru Arashi by AMAZUME Ryuta.

* Mangaka are both writer and illustrator on single manga, something I see as great skill and effort on the part of the artist.

These are ecchi series, with ecchi think Rated-R in USA movie lingo, which standout far above all other titles in my mind: animanga, ecchi and even hentai, think X to XXX when seeing hentai.

These series center on S&M story-lines between SUGIMARU Kaoru and CHIGUSA Nana, teenage characters of the same grade, ... during the last couple of years of high school, with very little expose breasts and buttocks. No exposed sexual flesh dealing with the main characters.

Amazume-sensei delivers ecchi titles beyond these, but Nana to Kaoru titles are the best in my humble opinion.

This manga deals with an unusual topic: Inter Sexuallity. Aiesu (pronounced ai esu) means IS or Inter Sexuallity. If you have serious problems dealing with this topic, please do not read it.

In my book, this is an 11 out of 10; 6 stars out of 5; Rank S! Taken from cases in the real world, it deals with IS in a very thoughtful fashion telling of the trials, tribulations and heartbreaks that being born and living life as an IS are like.

It is a great read and I hope you think so as well.

Unless you are one to get enjoyment from a rape story where the woman looses in the end, abandoning everything and everybody in her life, do not read this manga.

I read this to the end hoping for some good to happen. Her will was too weak caving in near the end just to do the bidding of the ones who took her to the dark side of sex and perversion.
