It's always nice when foreshadowing is nicely complemented by emotional vigor since often times, the predictability factor will often dilute it, if presented cheaply.
Hello :)
I have noticed that you watched Hyouge Mono. sorry if this is out of nowhere, but i really like Hyouge Mono that i actually browsed people who have watched it. Do you mind if i have some discussion with you about the show? i thirst for people who like to discuss it. the thing is most people i know didnt watch it or dont like to discuss things. again i am sorry for coming out of no where, but i dont really know how to start a conversation.
That's great to hear, I've watched 9 WMTs over the past year and loved every single one of them. If you're still unsure which one to watch next, I personally can't recommend Isao Takahata's other two WMT shows enough. Heidi is a really heartwarming slice-of-life and Marco is a great roadtrip adventure. Those two alongside Anne are so far my favorite WMT shows, but you really can't go wrong with any of the other WMTs aswell, they're all great in my opinion. Have fun with whichever one you choose to watch next!
Anomalisa came out in 2016 in France, that's why. We're awarding movies that came out in 2016 in France. It's as abitrary as anything, but that's what we chose...
no need to watch Neon Demon tbh. The photography and the OST are amazing, but it's all vain and boring as a whole.
Otherwise, you seem to mix up Hateful Eight and Django's unchained.
Harakiri is great, as is Once upon a time in the west (It's a leone after all so of course it's amazing). Still got to watch Woman in the Dunes.
So far (still got almost 20 movies of 2016 I'm interested in - but many don't have rips available yet), my top would be :
Anomalisa
Handmaiden
Last train for Busan
Hypernormalisation (I'm a huge fan of the british documentarist Adam Curtis)
The Strangers

You're in for a real delightful surprise (with both of those).
