I feel you there! Although I find that when I spread myself a little too thin, I tend to burn out more easily and then I just end up putting everything I'm watching on hold haha. So I try not to watch more than a handful of ongoing non-airing shows at a time, although that can definitely change depending on what I'm in the mood for and whatnot ;o; and I certainly don't mind one bit, so please feel free to gush to your heart's content about anything you're enjoying at the moment :') I'm always happy to listen, and it'll give me a reason to check out that thing myself, too! And I totally agree on both counts. Like I mentioned in my previous comment, Erin is already shaping up to be something very special for me and I can't wait to watch more. I'm itching to catch up on Anne too - as you said, she has such a vivid imagination and it's a blast to hear and see how she perceives the world around her haha. She's just too charming.
Ahh no worries!! I don't think we had ever talked about Wotakoi before then anyways, so it's totally normal to assume that I hadn't read the manga :) the anime has been a nice refresher for me too, especially since I think I first started reading the manga a couple years ago actually. I had totally forgotten that Naoya shows up this early in the story, but we're almost halfway through the anime already, so I guess it isn't that early! The jokes being animated and voiced really helps to elevate their execution and give them life. It's kind of ironic because I finally caught up to the Amanchu manga, and now I'm behind on the anime haha. I'm excited to watch the episodes I've missed as a way to just unwind and take it easy, though! The first season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime never really left me with the urge to check out more or read the manga, so I can definitely see where you're coming from there :P I actually don't think I've heard too much about Ajin aside from the CGI and Sato (is he the villain you're talking about? Or maybe I'm completely off -cries-), but what you said sounds quite promising and I'll be sure to check it out when I'm in the mood for that kind of series :') I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying the new LotGH anime and that you were able to go into it with such a level-headed perspective!! Some of the complaints about the new cast and designs and whatnot did seem a bit overblown, but I haven't watched the original yet so I definitely didn't have the same level of investment or nostalgia attached to the series. And yes, there are quite a few popular/well-regarded series I still have to watch, but all in due time, I suppose :) oh gosh, I've heard a bit about the Berserk anime, although I'm actually not sure if it's a particular version that should be steered clear of, or maybe it's all of them haha. I'm a couple episodes behind on Megalo Box now I think, but I'm excited to catch up on it as well!
It's really cool that your mom watches British television though!! I always watched kdramas with my mom on the TV actually, so there was no manipulation of technology involved haha. I think we both would've been in trouble if that was the case. My mom was never the best with technology either, but it's funny because when she got her first smartphone, she was on it more than I was on mine and she must've gotten almost a hundred messages a day on it or something LOL. It was pretty funny how quickly she adapted to having a smartphone after not wanting one for a while. Oh and (correct me if I'm wrong!), since you mentioned having a Korean mother... does that mean you're Korean by any chance? :o the reason I ask is because I'm actually Korean myself haha. And awww, that's a cute story behind how you got into kdramas! There are so many out there that even I've forgotten a lot of the ones I used to watch. If you delve a little deeper into kdramas, I'm sure you'll start to recognize some of the ones you watched :) I finish classes in mid-June, so I'm down to start simulwatching anytime around/after that!! I'm also excited for our other simulwatch... what shall we call it, the bad anime simulwatch? LOL either way, it'll be a blast :D
I'm glad you were able to finish everything in time, but it's always so stressful when assignment directions are confusing/unclear :( it's too bad your teacher never really bothered to clarify them either. And oh gosh! How is physio? I put that class into a lot of my students' plans because they're pre-nursing/kinesiology, but sadly many of them never end up actually taking it because they're unable to pass the anatomy and chem prerequisites ;___; hopefully the class is going alright for you though. Multiple choice tests were never my forte, but I'm glad to hear that your midterm went well!! And I'm sure there are countless things you've been gaining and learning by having made such a big move, even if they're not readily apparent at the moment ;n; hang in there and stay strong!! ♡
AAAA thank you so much for sharing that Tomoyo artwork ;___; it's just too lovely, and I also enjoyed seeing all of the artist's other CCS and Haikyuu illustrations! You're doing very good work by repping Tomoyo everywhere haha, I approve!! Speaking of Tomoyo, she was so cute in episode 15 that I had to watch it twice in row just for her adorable little moments c: I'm thankful to the anime staff for adding those scenes in, and I don't remember Kaito being so shady this early on in the manga either :o
Thank you! And oh man, that must mean you only have a couple weeks of classes left by now, right? Good luck!! My college also had a week off between classes and finals each semester, which was called dead week, haha. I always appreciated getting designated time off just to study, even if I usually still had work during that week anyways. And I totally agree! Once you finish, you'll have a much better idea of what to expect for upcoming semesters. And that's good to hear! At first I was a little worried because my program/department doesn't offer summer classes, but now I'm soooo relieved. Next year I get to venture out and take classes in other departments, which I'm really excited about, but at the moment I'm a bit burnt out and I'm definitely looking forward to recuperating this summer and just focusing on work. Hopefully this semester will lay down the foundations for your future coursework!!
I can definitely understand where you're coming from :( being abroad must add a whole new layer of pressure for you too. That was such a sweet and uplifting message from your mom!! ;w; and it's something that can be so easy to lose sight of amidst all the chaos of being back in school and overseas, too. I was soooo homesick when I first started college as well, especially during the first month, and I was still in the same state. I even considered dropping out and reapplying the following year for a local school, and I remember my mom was really upset and disappointed to hear me say that at the time haha. College was also a bit of a culture shock to me initially because I grew up in a very conservative, suburban area, and the school I went to and its surrounding area are known to be extremely liberal. But I stuck it out, grew to love the school and community I was living in, and now I miss those times dearly c': people always say that college is the happiest time of your life, and while I'm not entirely convinced that's the case for me (plus that line is a little cheesy), I always feel a rush of emotions whenever I reflect back on those years. And ahhh no worries!! I got a bit sentimental for a moment there myself haha. I know we chatted a bit about it earlier, but feel free to reach out to me anytime on here, line, or wherever if you want someone to chat with or just lend an ear <3333 I've always got your back!!
And it's my pleasure!! Thank you for taking the time to listen to each song and MV and giving me your thoughts on them :D they were lots of fun to read! I know you ended up changing your layout (lovely Ilya pic again, btw!), but As If It's Your Last really would've fit your previous color scheme perfectly. Twice and BTS probably have two of the biggest international fanbases at the moment - BTS' DNA is nearly at 370m views and TT isn't lagging very far behind at 353m haha. I think of you every time I hear RR now since we've talked about it so many times c': I was going to suggest that you check out more of RV and BTS' discographies later on because they're both quite solid and varied, but I think we both know that infinitely looping RR is the more appealing option atm LOL. RV is def my favorite girl group among the ones that are currently active, along with Loona, but they're a little more complicated because they technically haven't debuted as a group yet. And yes!! IU is amazing, she's got the whole package and she's just an all-around lovable person and talented artist - she's one of my favorite singers in general, and she composes and writes a lot of her music too :3 and that's okay! I feel the same way, I used to be a bit more exploratory with my music taste, but these days I just listen to whatever is trendy and/or popular hehe.
And what lovely artwork of the Poroporo MC!! Thank you for sharing, as always :') is it a new one? I'm impressed by how closely the art style resembles the original's, I wouldn't have stopped to think that it wasn't an official illustration if I didn't know beforehand. Young Taeko is too cute!
I'm laughing because out of curiosity, I decided to see how long my message was, and it ended up being exactly the same length as one of my take-home essays LOL. The big difference is that this was infinitely more fun to write than that was, though! ♥ ♥ ♥
I totally agree! I ended up binge reading the manga, and it was such a treat being able to relive the series all over again. Even though I knew what was coming, the last few chapters still made me cry ;___; I also found the slightly different ordering of events in the manga to be really interesting. And thank you! Btw, I really love all of your collages!! They look so nice. I imagine they must've taken a lot of time to put together, but the end result is very impressive! There's plenty for me to check out among them too c:
I'm at 840 now!! Slowly but steadily inching towards that 1k haha. At this rate, I should reach that milestone by the end of the summer, but maybe I should be a little more ambitious and aim for a closer date :P
(Oh gosh, I'm also planning to get back to our [longer!] comment chain this weekend, and I just realized that I probably should've bundled all of my comments together so you don't get spammed by me hahaha. Oh well, too late now!)
Lone Wolf & Cub has been incredible so far, the fights, the panelling, the episodic stories have all been great and the main story of revenge is starting to develop, the infodumps are somewhat infamous but I'm glad I have found them just fine, Ittou is one of the most badass main characters ever.
I loved Hyouka, it's definitely my favorite looking KyoAni show (probably tied with Haruhi movie), it even had some surreal scenes that blended so well with the story, such a great chemistry between all the characters made the show so much fun. Chitanda #1 is just me claiming her as my waifu lol.
we both seem to be doing well and that makes me happy c:
not to be too hard on myself but i'm really not. i had to drop my minor because i'm dumb and couldn't plan things properly. i'm actually pretty upset about it.
there's a lot of romance anime which makes me very happy. i managed to find four shows i hate and one i should hate but i like trashy romances and that particular anime is a total guilty pleasure now. it's not you being dumb at all. if i recall correctly, the first episode had six chapters of material crammed in and the rest of the episodes seem to be averaging three to four chapters. for some reason, pierrot thinks it's necessary to rush the hell out of TG. yet they have time for filler in black clover. but i'm not bitter. at all. jk i'm so bitter :c
Honestly I'll never get on that level LOL that's just....too much for me. I'd cry the entire season
Good point.....but Haru x Water is still my #1 OTP. That was fast, or maybe not....I just wasn't expecting it lol. Is the manga good? Or do you know? Amanchu AHH I NEED TO WATCH S2 BUT I'VE BEEN PUTTING IT OFF BECAUSE I JUST WANNA SKIP TO THE MANGA. jhasdkjsa
Only if you watch this with me :')
the smell of tea is better
That's awesome! I'm glad you have friends to talk to. That makes me happy c:
But seriously, it's a private college so I'm really surprised I got in. They wanted me omg
The anime season? If so, it's been good. There are more shows I like than dislike. Still unsure about TG:Re because it's Pierrot and they ruin everything they touch c: And Steins;Gate 0 is making me feel all the things ugh. Any favorites for you so far?
i've had quite a few papers and assignments too. tons of reading as well. as well as multiple presentations and posters/powerpoints. this time of the semester is always the hardest imo. have you made friends there?
thank you!!! i'm proud of me too. i'm still not quite sure how i got in but i'm pretty happy about it. i'm sure you will be. you're definitely smart enough to get into a grad school.
