Hey, Reimei! You should watch Gurren Lagann; its amazing.
I'm gonna post my review of it sometime soon, so look out for it ok?

The first batch of poll results for my club are in! Now I did a second 3 anime related by a common theme.
slucini Apr 23, 2015 7:45 PM
Hey, thank you! :D

*spoilers for anybody reading*

Picking a favorite part is a hard thing to do, because there are so many great moments! Off the top of my head, I like when Hohenheim confronted Father alone, I like when Mustang was talked by Edward and Scar, and I like when Scar unlocked his reconstruction alchemy to save Amestris!

I've heard the Higurashi dub is horrible. I haven't heard it myself, but I've heard its really, really bad from many people, so it must be bad.

I plan to give Spice and Wolf a fair chance due to you, thanks for that!

I agree with you're statement on if Avatar was an anime. I have an uber weeb friend that says it is but... yeah I won't go there. Anyway, I loved it to death. I watched it constantly when it was airing, and now that I'm a bit older, rewatching it is a true gift, because I can comprehend the plot points and appreciate the character development. Aang is an amazing protagonist, and all of the other characters are just as great.

Korra, to me, is a bit too centered around "teen drama romance." I understand, because the Avatar this time around is a teenager, and so are her friends, but still. Then again, that is still just my bias talking. Hell, if I'm giving Spice and Wolf a try, then I obviously don't really hate romance.

GOD. THAT MOVIE. That movie was one of the worst experiences of my life, I had food poisoning afterward and I literally think the movie did it to me. It was not an accurate portrayal of the plot or ANY of the characters, the acting was horrid, the script was written by a mentally handicapped goldfish, and the whole thing was basically just the spawn of satan. Toy Story 3 on the other hand, was brilliant. All the Toy Story movies are brilliant.

I notice you keep saying "over here," as in probably reference to America. I live here too, in case it wasn't clear xD. What's your favorite movie? I've not seen too many anime movies but my favorite movie series is the Dark Knight series and my favorite standalone movies are Kingsman: The Secret Service(came out this year) and Snowpiercer, which is a dystopian drama about a train carrying the last living people that is traveling across all of earth, after it was destroyed by ice. The plot is really interesting and I love the emotional trauma of the characters on board. Kingsman is just a fun spy movie though.

Wow just stumbled onto here and came across an 87.3% score. Nice.

I assume I should be watch Spice And Wolf already, looking at your profile?
KeyboardKafe Apr 23, 2015 4:33 PM
Spice and Wolf definitely sounds like something very good. While probably not my particular style, it still sounds like it has some good writing, and I'll always be willing to watch something with good writing.

You recommended watching it in English. Do you prefer sub or dub? For me, I used to prefer dubs but now I prefer subs. There was one point when I was trying watch Eureka Seven, and the dub was killing me, I couldn't take it anymore, so I switched to sub. (I dropped the show a while later) But then when I'm trying to watch FMAB subbed, it makes me feel strange, and I switch to the dub almost immediately. I guess it depends on the anime.

I used to be like that about episodic anime, but then I watched Death Parade. I loved Death Parade; it was episodic but still managed to have a very thin, underthread plot that wasn't necessarily hidden, but just became more prominent as time goes on. I wrote a review for it; I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes complex themes, especially about judgement and morality.

I jump from time to time on what I'll watch; sometimes I just sit back and relax and try something not so serious (as I did with Ouran) but 9 times out of 10 I will deliberately pick something dark and intelligent, like Psycho Pass or Steins;Gate (both of which were superb)

I'm not the biggest fan of American animation either. But I have to say that Avatar was one of the best damn things I've ever seen. Same goes for Korra but I've only seen the two seasons of that so I don't have any room to speak for any of the rest.

I'm interested in Mushishi as well as Gintama, but there is so much Gintama that its almost scary. I don't know about it yet.
