Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino is a very weird director, he hardly ever relies on pre-existing cliches or tropes when he writes his stories let alone one's that he himself invented and whether or not this is a good or bad thing is for the viewer to decide, sometimes it can lead to works that are truly groundbreaking in the medium such as the original Gundam or it could be something as terrible and directionless as Double Zeta or F91, this movie however does not fall into either one of those categories, there's nothing especially wrong with it per say because in theory one look at read more

Serial Experiments Lain is quite literally one of the weirdest pieces of entertainment ever made,
while it is supposed to be a drama/mystery series it is not written like a normal would and presents it's ideas in a very different way, for example one would expect a normal mystery series to show something that would question the viewer and it will always follow up on something that would answer said question however Lain does that differently, when Lain presents an idea it's answers are given in a convoluted way where it will never actually answer those questions but it will have some very smart use of read more

Inspired by Gundam Super Dimensional Fortress Macross set out to tell a different kind of story,
one that would give the anti-war message of Gundam but would have romance as it's core themes and instead of settling the difference's between dictatorship and democracy it would rather tell the importance of culture and love in the universe and how appreciating and accepting these things can make an individual's life much more pleasant and when you cherish your culture things such as war and violence don't matter in life. Life challenges us in many different ways, when we want something we try to look at different ways we can achieve it, but sometimes we cannot see the opportunities to solve the problems that are right in front of us, The Tatami Galaxy explores the concept of what if we are able to see a new possibility and how would we be able to change ourselves to explore that new possibility.
