Yep, that was fucking abysmal. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make the cast we know and love supporting characters and focus on a couple of shitty filler characters instead? Complete head-scratcher.

Also that scene at the end where Al and Julia had a random romance moment was completely unintentionally hilarious.

"Good Luck My Way" almost single handedly redeems the movie's worthless existence, tbh.

Btw, assuming there's a movie/S2 of Houseki no Kuni with the same production quality as the original, do you think it will be even better than season 1? I saw that you had been reading the manga.

I like to be a completionist with my anime, I figured I might as well watch the OVAs of both FMAs and the movie I hadn't seen yet!

Halfway through it, it definitely ain't good. Other than the obviously shitty writing, the artstyle is so jarring and crude compared to both FMAB and FMA03...

I think Tutu is better if only by a slight margin. I might need to rearrange my too 10 soon, my tastes have changed so much in comparison to like last year.

I hope you like it! The episodic writing isn't nearly as strong as Bebop, but it makes up for it with some fun main characters, great directing, cool visuals, and some absolutely amazing music.

I'm about to watch the Sacred Star of Milos, wish me luck!

Just saw you haven't seen Samurai Champloo yet! Pretty shocking considering how much you like Bebop.
SadSceneryBoi May 7, 4:35 PM
Yup, gonna be honest...I shamelessly stole the art you used for your FMA pic :D

All that good art is yet another reason why the Shamballa OP is god tier, even if the rest of the visuals are unfortunately just clips from the show.

Yeah I would wait on Penguin Highway for good subs. No doubt I wouldn't have loved it nearly as much if I had seen it with bad subs!

I recently decided to join the rest of you people who live in the 21st century by having an epiphany that I could crop an image to the exact way I wanted before putting it into my 3x3 and having it shittily crop it for me.

I love your 3x3 as well!

Also glad to see Berserk (1997) at a 9, you had it at an 8 before, IIRC.

Btw, what do you think of Dororo so far?

I like it, but...it's hard to explain. I want to like it a lot more than I do.

Can you give me a link to that Joe art if you have it?

>Diebuster

I may need to rewatch it as well, my thoughts on it might grow even more positively (although I still really like it), because I wouldn't feel the same stylistic whiplash from Gunbuster to Diebuster, and might understand more of what's going on. Tsurumaki's directing is incredibly subtle and intricate despite simultaneously being bombastic and over the top, and that's what I love about him.

>Miyazaki

Hell yeah, my offer is totally open at any time, for any number of films! Film contracts are a lot easier for me than TV anime contracts since I can do them in one go.

>Joe

Yeah...I like it but it's so long...

>Kaiba

Honestly, mostly because the premise and aesthetic appealed to me more. And the first half of Kaiba was actually some of the best I've seen from anime yet, it's a shame it shit the bed in the second half. I also have a feeling that I'm gonna give TTG a 10, so I'm saving it for my 200th milestone. Ping Pong also looks dope, definitely want to check out it and everything else Yuasa has directed before I watch his new film, although I'm having a hard time getting hyped for Mind Game and Kemonzume.

>Kyousougiga

I think I need to start over from the beginning, and watching the ONA first did it no favors for me, and was probably a mistake. It wasn't bad but it was definitely confusing.

Favorite seasonals so far?

Yeah looks like it's Princess Mononoke, followed by Madoka Magica.

Some nice score changes in there, kinda surprised at Diebuster's and looks like you've come around to more my feelings on UBW :)

It's a shame about Princess Mononoke, but I do think you'd like a Miyazaki film or two if you gave more of them a chance, they're all pretty different. If you want to do a movie contract sometime, I'd love to have you watch Spirited Away and I watch a movie of your choice. Just hit me up!

Still gotta finish Kyousougiga and Ashita no Joe at some point...
