This series is simply phenomenal. The season it first began, I took a pass on it, because the synopsis sounded too envy-driven to me. Boy was I wrong. If you are in the need of anything uplifting (which everyone could use more of) this is such a perfect anime. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the fact that the story hasn't finished. Because of the slow pace of the manga, the show stopped at 99 episodes until they build up a good amount of content to cover from the manga.

This is not an anime to watch alone. This is an anime to watch on bad movie night. This is the anime equivalent of Tommy Wiseau's The Room. This is Plan 9 From Outer Space. This is the anime equivalent of hilariously campy. The story offers little to no background in what is clearly a rather complex fantasy world. Don't bother yourself by trying to figure anything out. It won't do a lick of good. Just sit back and laugh at this comedy gold. I don't give a crap about talking art-style and character ...

Let's preface this by saying one thing: the story may very well be solid and fulfilling if completed in further season (since the manga is still running as I write this). There are far too many characters in this show for 12 episodes. The dear friends Ganta spends the entire series grieving are ridiculously underdeveloped.
