This is the fourth installment of the spinoff series focusing around Illya, who is a magical girl.

I'm going to review only the third fourth seasons, as I actually thought the first two seasons were good for what they were. Especially the second season, I found it to be a much better sequel than I was anticipating. As for the third and fourth...not so much.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on the third season, but basically, the first 6 episodes are a nonfactor. If you didn't already know that illya was a magical girl, you'd basically never would have figured it out until read more

This show was way to ambitious with the way it wanted to include anything and everything into its plot.

*spoilers ahead

So, the first episode looks good, shows some promise, the way characters are presented, kazumi's secret, turning into kappa, etc. And honestly, some nice, fluid animation, with no CG. Sure, there are some lazy backgrounds for animating people, but I'll take that over crappy CG. The leaking memory thing is also kind of interesting in terms of character development and plot progression.

HOWEVER, so much stuff and plot is just CRAMMED into a 11 episode series. Kazuki's secret, which honestly, could have been the main topic read more

This anime is the peak of the melodrama craze that was going on at this time this anime was aired. And of course, it was a HUGE success.
But it's garbage. The fact of the matter is, the contents of this show are so minimal, and any plot really only happens at the very beginning, and the very end. There IS a deficit in too slow paced episodes, especially when its badly made, and show no purpose. This anime could have been made into a 90 minute movie, and I'm sure it would have turned out the same exact way. And of course, the entire read more

Some things just can't be adapted well if they are too true to their originals, and this is what happened with this adaptation.
I'm sure if you're not 12 and live under a rock, you knew the old RPG style horror games that came out in the 2000s, like Ao oni, IB, Mad father, etc etc. This was one of them. Granted, I never played this game, but I have played a few of the other horror games before, and actually just recently I played one as well. While I didn't get the feeling of scariness as I did before, I still remember the vibes and read more

Endro~! (Anime) add (All reviews)
Endro started off pretty promising, with a plot that's also pretty unique, and made correctly, would have been a great work. However, after the first couple of episodes, you understand the sort of audience, comedy, and characters the story is going for. As in, you understand that this show goes for shallow, predictable, and risk free comedy. Low risk, and apparently, some returns as people rate this highly

All of the four main characters in the party can be summed up in one word each. They're really that simple. WELL IT'S A COMEDY ABOUT GIRLS DOING CUTE THINGS. Thats ok, right? Yes, it's not something that read more

A review I wrote when devilman crybaby first aired, decided to post it here because why not.

Compared to 2017 and 2018 anime that have aired, Devilman is something that is "unique." You know, rather than trying to adapt 100% faithfully from the original, or trying to use CGI, cheap anime tropes. boring shows that aren't very different from each other, the producers of devilman have tried some creative liberties. I think you know a lot more than I about the kind of 'surrealness' of the artstyle/animation they try to put forward. read more

Dororo (Anime) add (All reviews)
*major spoilers ahead

This show was great for what it was. I definitely like the effort the studio put into adapting such a dated work into a new, re imagined modern work.

The episodic arcs were, of course, the best parts of the show. It managed to not only prove entertaining with each different episode, but also managed to have a great impact on character development, whether it was hyakkimaru or Dororo.

Of course, the thing people had issues with this show, was not the episodic arcs of the show, but rather the ending. I, too, have the same issue with the show.

Hyakkimaru's character development is one of read more

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo was one of the first shows I've ever watched as a kid. And as a grown ass man looking in retrospect: Damn, it's good.
I've rewatched the show 7 times, and it gets better each time I do it. I personally dislike rewatching shows, so being able to rewatch it this many times just shows how much I cherish it.
The comedy is nonsensical and hilarious, the characters are unique, and gags are being thrown left and right. It's a breath of fresh air, whether you're reading it or watching it. Crazy plot, action, and comedy. it all comes together to form something read more

A lot of people get their priorities mixed up when reviewing a comedy show. The biggest point, the elephant in the room, the thing that matters the most, is whether or not it's funny. The other things are a mere afterthought.

And wow, this show is great. It's funny, and delivers it many times throughout the entire series.

Of course, I won't neglect the fact that the OP and ED are quite good tracks. The characters are unique, funny, and the animation makes great medium rather than holding back the hilarious facial expressions that the characters throw out. The art is refreshing, well animated, and read more

I am certain that all of the top rated reviews have not read the manga. In the minute I was breezing through the essay-long review, i was able to gleam at how the comedy and story are out of wack, and another ten miles of ranting about the change of studio.

Man, this season followed very faithfully to the manga, if you didn't like this season's choice of story, comedy, or structure, then you don't hate the studio, you hate the original series.

Sure, was this season's comedy a little off? Perhaps, and it certainly wasn't as good as the first, but many are complaining about read more
