The first book is the whole of what the anime adapted, albeit with a prologue that kinda gives away who the Seventh is, taken out of the anime. The second book onwards continues the story.

Great Rokka no Yuusha review.

As a reader of the light novels, the story really does pick up from there and provide a thorough explanation for the anime's ending. One by one you start to learn a lot more about the uniquely designed cast members, and in the battle scenes, the series does a great job distributing their roles so everyone feels important in some regard. There's a lot of all-or-nothing gambits, like you saw with Adlet backed against the corner in the anime, for several characters. The journey is a framing device to learn more about the world and explore the "true companions" trust the party has towards each other, set off by a conniving villain who isn't a crazy psycho, but a calm schemer who isn't entirely perfect himself. They are fun books to read because of this, and how tense they can get.

Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated.

I've read some interviews with Asano where he talks about the beginning specifically being a setup to drive home the ending similar to what you mentioned. However for me it had quite the opposite effect and all I got out of it was a tonal clash. I might feel differently when I eventually read it again.

Thats why manga is better than anime
I_Hate_Anime123 Sep 18, 2018 7:12 PM
better to be a realistic cynic than to be a childish optimist

Bro you really watching 500 anime? lol
I_Hate_Anime123 Sep 14, 2018 3:50 PM
yeah I can't stand it, at this point I'm only still watching it out of principle

Well I wasn't here last year, but from what I've heard this year was nothing in comparison to last year or the years before. Maybe the weather being too damn hot affected it or something else, not sure. Holidays are always usually busy yeah.

I do both, so I can say that being a server is a bit more difficult just because you're doing more, but sometimes a bartender is more stressful if the bars full on a busy day. It wasn't that busy on the 4th, surprisingly not on Canada Day either.

At first it was a bit difficult, but gradually overtime I got used to it and now it's easy to talk to people at work. You interested in being a bartender or server? It's a pretty easy, but stressful job at times.

Yeah I had to rewatch Wolf's Rain too

Uh not bad. Picks up a little as it goes, but tends toward the main love triangle. I don't usually watch slice of life, but I kinda found the uncommon subject interesting lol. Characters had more than 1 dimension actually

I see you're a man of good taste
