I Deliberately Watch Shows I Think I'd Like Because I'm Not A Masochist; Therefore My Ratings Are Consistently High As They Should Be
(Apparently having this mindset is a rarity on this site)
Note: I only use this site to log anime/manga, not as a social network, so don't talk to me unless you know me irl.
The Twilight Zone
Nathan For You
12 Angry Men
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
The Empire Strikes Back

How I Rate Anime/Manga
10 Fits the criteria to be "perfect" for me. 9 Near perfect, but is held back by a minor flaw or two. Basically equivalent to a 10 in some cases. 8 A very enjoyable experience, that I recommend highly. 7 Lighter recommendation. Not great, but still very good. 6 Slightly above average. Still enjoyable, just not high tier. 5 Average. Meh. I'm fairly conflicted about these. 4 Not terrible or offensive, just straight up bad. 3 Something that really didn't sit well with me. 2 Appalling and disgusting. Wish I would have never seen these. 1 I don't go out of my way to watch bad anime/read terrible manga, so I'll probably never give this score.
I don't rate OVA's, short films, ONA's, specials, or music videos. I rate films only if they're associated with a series. Also, my ratings are really out of date, so don't hold 'em in super high regard.
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
-The Garden of Sinners
-Rebuild of Evangelion Films (This would be #6)
Steins; Gate and Death Note will always be top tier. The rest are interchangeable.
Things I like/dislike about anime
-Vibrant character designs
-Well executed tonal shifts
-The typical duration of a series (12-24eps as opposed to multiple seasons and renewals)
-Compelling Characters and Narratives
