Yeah, I thought it was outside the purpose of the website, but would be great to have that in any form, so I wanted to suggest. But never mind then, that's okay.
I don't have the info about episode length saved in my database. Yeah, I supposed you didn't have that info, but would be great to have that info, even if you don't display to users and don't use this data now, if you want to use that for something you would already have everything ready to use, but that's up to you.
I've already started it a long time ago, but I got into a bug and gave up, now I guess I know how to fix that, but I don't have a lot of time to make an "complex" script now. It's been almost a year since I touched these codes.
I don't think I would pay for hosting...
Great website!
Would you mind adding a feature to show what's the longest/shortest PTW franchise?
Like you could connect the website to the user anime list, get all the PTW of the user and organize that by total amount of hours needed to watch a franchise.
That list could/should also be sorted by the total amount of related entries that an franchise has.
I kinda already made it, I'm still working on it, but it would be an user script, not a website.
I think it's better if you make a topic on Anime Discussion or Creative Corner for it so more people know about it
I just want to know what anime is like through the eyes of a Gainax/Triggerfag
inb4 "I WAS ONLY PRETENDING TO BE RETARDED"
Please clarify if I'm wrong, I'm basing this on our previous conversations since you're vague as fuck
"Of course, that interpretation has some holes"
You know you're wrong lol. Obviously kidding
Like I said in the first sentence, I haven't seen it to refute whatever it is that you are saying. I'll just try to address what I have knowledge on. I only know what I know.
"an OVA made with such clearly feeleble love for mecha. A perfect blend between detailed and realistic as heck design seven for the 80's, character designs and cheesy love story with even cheesier 80s action movie plot"
"Like it couldn't be more sincere love letter to robots, from the people who put great care and attention to details with them."
I can't say anything about the narrative since I haven't seen it, like I said twice before so I'll talk about your comments on the OVA's aesthetic. Not the OVA's aesthetic but the things you said about the OVA's aesthetic.
By your reasoning, every other robot anime would be garbage if they aren't animated the same way as Madox-01.
Your standards are really all over. You have a boner for Gurren Lagann's style of robot animation yet you refuse to acknowledge older anime that animated mechs in the Kanada Style all the while you hold the heavily militaristic style of "realism" for your robot animation as one of the highest standards. Simply, both are just particular aesthetics. I don't believe one to be better than the other. If you do believe that one is better than the other then explain to me why such is the case.
Both are idealisations of how a giant machine would move. The "realism" you are talking about is just an application of real-world technology in an idealised way, realized through animation. You ain't seeing giant robots running around shooting shit or carrying a giant sword or whatever in real life so the realistic mechs you speak of is inherently an idealisation.
It is the same with Gurren Lagann. You ain't seeing giant drills being used as a weapons or giant mechs combining into an even bigger mech irl.
Could you elaborate your comment on Nadesico? I am interested in why you would say that it is a celebration of mecha.
I thought it was saying that you should be careful with the media you consume illustrated with the space facists basing their ideology and aesthetics on an in-unverse old robot anime and characters having unrealistic expectations with how things would play out, idealising that same old robot anime.
