For scores: I'm creating a bell curve now and from then on I'll estimate based on how good I think it is compared to other shows. This is only because I don't trust myself to give ratings that are anywhere near the reality of how I felt about the anime any other way. This might take a while (I'm busy), so old scale:
10 = All my favourite anime
9 = Very good, enjoyed greatly
8 = Pretty good, would recommend
7 = Good, don't regret watching overall
6 = Above average, possibly somewhat boring
5 = Average
4 = Bad, anime that I didn't enjoy overall
3 = Horrible, usually dropped these
2 = Terrible
1 = Worst anime I've ever watched, dropped in one episode or less

Well let me give you an advice.
Just for the information.
The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.
But it will improve a lot afterwards.
So I hope you will keep on watching Gintama.
