Do you have any physical media for your anime? Boxsets are a lot cheaper than they used to be. I recall the time in the early 2000s when buying a DVD or VHS was like $30 for only two episodes. Yikes! 😱
And yes of course brother! I'd be happy to recommend you somemore, do you want more 90s titles or anything from a particular era?
Oh man I wish I did. Sadly I only own an actual small amount of the physical media for many of these older titles. A lot of them I watched on TV back in the day, and the few official copies I do have of them are divided between a handful of VHS and DVDs. I still need to get around to replacing my old VHS copies with DVDs and Blu-rays for the other half.
You may like it for what it is, if you ever do get around to watching it or playing the Toshinden games I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Wow I'm glad to hear it really struck home with you! As for the 2005 version no I don't believe I have. I definitely will have to check it out, I've only seen a handful of the entries.
Yes by all means, I'm always up for some new recommendations! 😁
Brother that is awesome! Sounds like you're really getting heavy into the retro goodness, and wow even the ovas too? You're definitely in for a treat, you probably are going to experience certain entries in the series that I have yet to watch myself. Let me know if some of those ovas are good and which ones you recommend.
I've honestly been on the fence of mentioning an anime called Battle Arena Toshinden. It's honestly one of my favs from back in the day, I didn't mention it though because I don't know if you've ever played the game before as it's pretty obscure. There are a lot of characters and only two episodes were produced, so as you can imagine the story wasn't the greatest when comparing it to the game. Characters just kind of appear and then disappear. I still really enjoyed it though for the battles. You may want to check it out, but if you've never played the game then you may find yourself wanting more.
And yes of course! Nothing wrong with watching some of the newer stuff, there's some great modern anime series out there as well. Any personal favorites by the way?
