Interesting premise (maybe) ruined by lack of runtime. The twist is fine, but lack suspense as it feels rushed.

Characters-Development /4/
At 13 episodes, with the amount of characters introduced, you can barely develop them at all. In the end, we end up with bland and boring characters.

Sound-Music /7/
The OP is amazing. ED is ok. OST is a good fit with the theme. Nothing too memorable though.

Art-Style /7/
... Good animation, consistent style, great colors.

Execution-Satisfaction /7/
The first part of the anime, the comedy part, is actually decent but get repetitive fast, luckily we only have 3-4 episodes of that. The second part is sketchy and rushed, again ruined by the amount of episodes.

Overall /5.6/

Plot deals with Violet facing her past, is great but gets repetitive. Every episode is essentially stand-alone episodes. With new characters to be introduced then almost never to be used again. This sounds really bad, but is actually OK. As the characters are used to make Violet understands more of herself. Amazing really.

The art is superb, as expected from KyoAni, nothing much to say here.
Art // 9

OP & ED are great, especially the OP by TRUE. The soundtrack is OK, not memorable but OK. Violet's seiyuu is nice to the ears.
Sound // 7

Violet gets good development. There are just too many supporting characters ... and most of them never shows up again (They actually do get shown but nah).
Character // 7

The slow pacing sometimes makes you yawn. But by the end of an episode, Violet Evergarden makes you happy inside. Most people should enjoy Violet Evergarden, but most probably won't rewatch it.
