Your experience with this adaptation of H.P Lovecraft's color out of space will mostly come down to how much you like the source material, whether you have read it or not.
As an adaptation, this is a solid piece of work. Giving life to the original material with art and characters. Backgrounds especially can be vivid and alien. And the way they portray the color is done well. With the use of unknown silhouettes and a mix of shadings, it truly feels like the artist managed to grasp the essence of the color.
But that is also where it all ends. It´s a solid horror adaptation. But

I usually say I like my monster girls to look more um... Monster. So upon seeing concept art and clips of this around the net I immediately said non non non. Ears and a tail is not enough for me, I need that fur, I need paws and spider legs, etc.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by the slapstick comedy presented in the show. Not that I laughed out loud a lot but the show presents the anthropomorphic characters as their animal counterparts are in the real world and use that for comedic purposes. By setting up a joke that pays off with a fun punchline accompanied ...

Saw another review and decided to check this one out. It is a short 2 minute ONA so no problem to consume at all.
As a short ONA, it´s sweet, fun and managed to lift my mood. What else is there to say. I will certainly share this to my friends and save it on my playlist so I can easily find this whenever I want. All in all with it´s art, sound and characters combined, it´s simply fun. Unless it´s not your type of humour. Oof longer review... What else can I say... Now it feels like I am writing an essay that I have to ...

I happened to be on break from class when I and a friend went to local Nerd store in town. I usually go there to check out manga but happened to find a colletion edition blu ray of this movie for a nice price. Whether it actually was a nice price I don´t know but I was satisfied with the purchase. As this also happened to be my first introduction to Masaki Yuasa. (Except for devilman crybaby which did not appeal to me).
The best way to describe this movie is "Experience". This movie is like a roller coaster that you sit and ride on through ...

Looks like this is gonna be my first review for this site. But this is not gonna take long, after all if you have read another short horror manga you will pretty much know how the experience will go. Personally I read manga like these when I have nothing to do and want a quick read. And as that, this manga works quiet well.
The story is short and self contained, and not over ambitious at all. What is presented is not bad, but enjoyable for what it is. The biggest strength this piece has is its art, just like a lot of other horror ... |
