It’s worth reading it even though the author has passed away causing Highschool of the Dead to be discontinued. We will never get a true ending, but what was left here is a true gem. The fact is, I’m sad but not frustrated that it’s over. There are no great mysteries left to be solved.
This manga has a BEAUTIFUL full-color version from Yen Press that you should look for if you are considering reading Highschool of the Dead. I got the digital version, it was quite amazing. For those of you who are about to experience that edition for the 1st time: I envy you.

You know that mythical border between ecchi and hentai? Well, the ecchi world just extended its territory a little bit further with Shuumatsu no Harem. If you are the type of guy (and you are a guy, call me psychic) that is considering reading Shuumatsu no Harem, all you need to know is this: the story is fine and the art is beautiful.
It’s 100% a male power fantasy, and the fact there are three POV characters means you can enjoy different aspects of that same fantasy: the nice guy, the horny bag, and the nerd-turned-stud. But there is a cost, by reading Shuumatsu no Harem ...

It's finally over. At some point, reading Gantz felt like a chore. I know you are considering reading it because you watched the anime and wants to discover things like "who is Gantz?," "Will Kurono get a break with the ladies?," "Why are they being forced to fight?," etc.
Trust me, it's mostly not worth the effort. The author of this manga must be a wizard or something because he was able to create an interesting manga without interesting characters or an interesting story. And the art is just bad, especially by the end when it feels like you are seeing closed-up shots of Transformers fighting. ...

I had a smile plastered on my face the whole time. This show is truly unique. I was laughing on the very first joke. Don't watch it if you dislike jokes about sex, weird fetishes, or the occasional LGBT stuff. The jokes aren't sophisticated, but they are clever.
I recommend it. Specially if you're frustrated with harem protagonists that blush at the mere mention of sex. This show acts like a palate cleanser for that. It's quite refreshing. Not good fap material though, unless you can bust a nut from 15 seconds of weird ecchi stuff. Watch it for laughs, not faps. |
