You can call me Ryo. ^^ Yoroshiku Josh-san.

Thank goodness you could get out of the bad situation, but I'm kinda worried if those guys target other students and do bad things to them.
Those asians come to Japan often out of greed, not out of love for the country. That's why they keep committing crimes with a straight face. It's ironic their very acts are making it difficult for them to immigrate here though.
People often make fun of weaboos, but they're actually by far better than those scums because they won't commit such crimes. They appreciate and value the Japanese way. They're more Japanese than Japanese people. lol

Okay, I'll go ask them if they know an American who's very skilled at beigoma. xD

Honestly, I don't really know what to do in Akiba either. (Sorry for disappointing you.) I love anime, manga and doujin but I could always get my hands on those stuff here in Machida so I rarely visited the place. Machida is like another Akiba since there are Toranoana, Animate, Gamers, Sofumap and game centers there. Also I like PC parts and gadgets but I can buy them on amazon or yahoo auction.
Once I asked my otaku friend why he likes Akiba so much and he answered he just likes the atmosphere of the place. To me it didn't really make sense. lol

Haha, you never know what happens in life! You can even make an anime based on your story. xD Going through the hardships, meeting a girl, turning your dream into reality... Everything is so awesome!
On a serious note though, you could report those chinese bastards to the police. It seems petty crimes committed by those scums are not really rare, and yet such cases don't get public attention, which is very problematic.
But it may be thanks to those garbages that you could meet your girlfriend so they have been useful as villains to give your story a little spice at least. ^^

Thank you for the links! I checked them out. It looks like they're having a lot of fun. ^^ Maybe I'll go see the fuchu one. Unfortunately, Nerima is a bit too far from my home so i don't think i can visit there. (I don't have my driver's licence.)

I think she'll understand it just fine if the show is not so complicated or heavily based on dialogs. ^^ Speaking from my personal experience Jrpgs uploaded on Youtube are a good starting point but they could be cringeworthy to some people and I'm not sure if she'll like those.
Wow, it sure took a lot of nerve to come to live here with only knowing basic Japanese, didn't it? After all, more than 99% of people here can't speak English at all lol.
But to think you secured a very good job within a year after that. You must've either some luck or talent. I hope you'll get your visa status changed without trouble!

Um, yeah, come to think of it the show still has a lot of cultural references. I got so used to looking everything up to the point it became second nature and I am not even conscious of doing that. lol

Oh, let me have the facebook link, I'm interested. Fuchu is close to my home. Akabane is not far from where i work and Kawagoe is on the way to a customer company. (It's not like i can get out of the offices while working though lol)

It's okay. ^^

Oh, I see. But I'm sure soon she'll be able to understand shows with English subtitles. ^^ By that time you won't have to worry about shows to pick up.
So you started studying Japanese around the time you moved to here? That's actually quite surprising to me cause most of people I know seemingly study or studied a lot of Japanese for preparation before moving.
I kinda wonder how you've got to live here.
But the sooner you move to Japan the better it is, I guess. Cause you learn the language much faster here, provided you make a lot of efforts to learn it regardless.

I'm currently watching Big Bang Theory, a very popular show. But it's really fun to watch, and I can understand it because there's relatively less American-specific stuff. It's still not possible for me to understand without subtitles though.

Tournaments of ベイゴマ? They do that? xD Haha it sounds really fun! I'd love to participate in the tournament too if it wasn't far from where I live. ^^ It seems adults are allowed as well. I kinda assumed it would be children-exclusive if there was a tournament.
Ryo_Misaki Jun 11, 2017 9:59 PM
Yeah, high schools girls are the ones that create and start all the fads out there. They are always ahead of time lol

So you watch shows with your girlfriend? If she's japanese she must be very fluent in English! I wish I had an English speaking partner and could share the enjoyment with them. ^^ Not to mention having a partner is the best way to learn a language.
You seem to be fluent in Japanese too. How long have been learning the language?
Oh and I am planning to watch Orange is the New Black too as soon as i finish other ptw shows.

ベーゴマ xD It really bring me back past memories. I do remember playing with it when i was a pre-schooler. Even winding string around a one was hard and to make it spin by releasing the string was even more so. Did you get good at it? It may need a bit of practice.
ベイブレード is nice and all, but ベーゴマ sure has its own uniqueness and charm. ^^

I normally only hang out with my close friends so I'll just use the default messaging app.
Yeah, literally all the younger ones here have the line app installed on their mobile phone. lol idk what's so fascinating about the app, but they somewhat take a liking to it.

My hobbies are playing games, watching shows, reading books etc. I play games on pc or consoles, not in game centers. Mario Kart, Need For Speed series, Tales of series are my favorite ones. ^^
I watch shows or read books for entertainment, but also for studying English. So it takes like a few weeks for me to finish a show and months to finish a book lol.

What about you? What do you do in your free time?
Ryo_Misaki Jun 11, 2017 8:16 PM
Thank you. ^^ Hopefully i will be able to speak English fluently like them someday.

Within a decade or two the company'll likely disappear into thin air lol, but It's not happening for the time being at least.

I have an abandoned line account in my previous devices(they never get out of my house). After I decided to learn English I try not to use my line account as much as possible. It's time consuming af and conversations never end. Also speaking or writing Japanese is kinda distracting to me. Maybe I'll make a new line account on my new phone. Tbh I never dreamed of adding an English speaking friend in my line account lol.
Ryo_Misaki Jun 11, 2017 7:04 PM
That sounds really great! Haha it's easy to imagine how you enjoy working with kids. They keep you busy and never get you bored. It kinda reminds me of when i was a pre-schooler... Those days were really nice. ^^
Also it's great that people around you are so nice. Well, for the most part Japanese people are kind to people from other countries so I doubt they'll ever do something that's not nice to you. ^^ There are some who have it rough in Japan though but they're mostly from Asain countries and work in a farm.

Actually I don't overwork at all, instead I underwork a bit maybe. I usually work from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. (30 minutes shorter than an average IT company here) And sometimes I work only from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm because of the customer's schedule. Safe to say it's always less than 150 hours per month.
But the problem is, the future for this company is bleak, imo it's completely doomed so I'll have to change jobs at some point in the future. But me changing jobs almost means finishing off the company lol (It's really a small company, only around 10 to 15 people are there.) Unless a really talented dude happens to get into the company and unreasonably decides to continue working there, that is.
Ah sorry for not mentioning, I'm a native Japanese and never been overseas. I only started learning English almost two years ago so my English doesn't make sense sometimes and it takes a lot of time to write a reply. (sorry if that happens)
Ryo_Misaki Jun 11, 2017 8:00 AM
Do you teach English there by any chance? I heard that International kindergartens are getting more popular as parents are increasingly investing for their children. Also that you get paid more than the past because there is serious lack of manpower for the job lately.

I'm 21 years old now and work in a software company. It's a full-time job, but not really busy or anything. I somehow never get bored of coding and i can browse the internet freely in the office so it's like heaven lol. Getting along with people at work can sometimes be a pain in the ass but except that it's perfect.

Oh, the city seems to be a good place to live. It's not as crowded as certain cities/wards and has good access to Shinjuku so you can easily go to the center of Tokyo. And it's less than an hour from where i live. ^^ (I live in Machida.)
Glad to hear that you're not overworking and have enough time to work on your Japanese. Sounds like you're having an ideal life in Japan.
Nenpai Jun 11, 2017 6:29 AM
What about you?
Ryo_Misaki Jun 11, 2017 6:03 AM
Hi. I live in Tokyo too. Which city/ward do you live in? Are you a university student?
Solicitude May 28, 2015 6:18 PM
Ty, for the friend request m8.
Hope you enjoy the site. I'm the first to comment eh?
