Parts 1-4 are Question Arcs, as they are designed to question the reader, don't expect much development in these arcs.

Higurashi is a weird combination of Mystery, Supernatural, and Horror. Definitely worth a shot IMO, and while I barely read any manga, it is indeed my favorite.
