Pulpy scifi fantasy, but like really bad. Felt like I was watching some cultist film, but made in Bangladesh. I get that it took some inspiration from the Indian mythologies, but that just adds to the cult-like theme of the movie.
The animation quality varied, some scenes were really dynamic, then it stopped being that and came the freeze frames. Some sounds were similar to tom and jerry type slapstick stuff.
Maybe because of all the content of the manga crammed together in one anime and not giving room for the characters to grow and the time for the audiences to latch on to. ...

The adults lie, they make others lie, and they slowly lose the spirits. And when they lost their spirits, they succumbed to blood curdling insanity.

You'll be surprised how fast you can get hooked to this manga. Absolute brilliance in concept and execution. The kid characters have the minds of kids and the situation they are in is very very serious. The author puts us in the mind of those kids. So when the psychological breakdown occurs, or they have to battle with some eldritch monster, the intensity it reaches is just insane.

Mixed Feelings
Upon watching The Weathering Continent, I can say, the soundtrack is too good to be in an anime like this.

The atmosphere and story for the people in the hidden city is very interesting, kind of like the tales in Arabian Nights, thanks to this soundtrack. The short scene with the wounded girl at the beginning of the movie was also great.
However the rest of the movie comes out very lacklustre. A little more action, may be some swinging of sword (considering Boice's resemblance with Guts, and having Marc Diraison's voice) , or some moral obligation to avenge the wounded girl could bring some sense ...
