Personally, I love this!
It is definitely my cup of tea and a breath of fresh air when it comes to adapting a manga into an anime. The title says it all, "Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy". It's a sign that it's either gonna be something that won't be for everyone's taste, or it will be something that some people will more than likely enjoy.

I don't think it's the worst adaptation of any manga in existence. That honor belongs to Berserk 2016/17. I hate that anime and everyone involved in the making of that anime should be ashamed of themselves. I got around to read the manga when the announcement came of the anime. I read it from start to finish and loved every single minute of it and every single page. The anime, however, does not live up to the awesomeness that is the manga.
