My ratings are based entirely off of personal enjoyment. Plot, characters, animation quality, sound design, and the like are all filtered subconsciously into how much I personally like a show. I give no heed to objectivity as there is no such place for it in a personalized rating.
10. What I would consider cream of the crop. Must be life-changing to the point of obsession. Transcends basic love into something internalized. To put it succinctly, it must alter my lifestyle in a big way; it must greatly alter my behavior without my conscious notice. 9. The apex of enjoyment I can feel without me obsessing about it. Worthy of the highest praise. Top of its genre. 8. Almost zero faults but perhaps wasn't as emotionally affecting or had a few minor downs in some episodes. 7. Liked it well enough. If it was a comedy, I may smile sometimes with a laugh here or there. If it was a tragedy, I may feel sad but not to the point of tears. It's a show I would not mind watching in the first place, but I may leave it hanging for a while. 6. It was okay. There was enjoyment to be had. I would not regret watching it, but I would not mind ever not watching it. A show perhaps best left in the background as you're doing some other task. Not very engaging at most times. 5. Nothing annoying, but nothing enjoyable either. Could also be a case where a particular show's annoyances cancel out its potential enjoyment. Typically boring or bland. 4-1. In essence, the severity to which I dislike a series. Shows where certain annoyances cropped up way too many times. There might still be enjoyable parts here or there, but certain portions poison the well so thoroughly as to make me offended and/or lose all suspension of disbelief.
Main things that really annoy me: Badly explained character motivation, stupid and/or illogical character decisions, melodrama.
