I have to agree, boobs and explosions are pretty rad.

Hello there^^ I can see Captain Herlock on your favorite anime list :D Few days ago I found
Space Pirate Captain Herlock: Outside Legend - The Endless Odyssey I adore its art. while the original series makes my eyes bleed^^" so do you think I should get some good eyedrops (and "enjoy the plot" ;p) or can I watch the side story alone? Is that Endless Odyssey worth 42 episodes of pain Space Pirate Captain Harlock?

I AGREE WITH THIS LISTING SO MUCH

Haruka is the best, and Amagami has been surprisingly good in general

I definitely liked the idea behind that. To be honest, I enjoyed watching the movie, and it wasn't until later that I started having second thoughts about what I'd seen. I just don't think it was executed well at all, and upon revisiting certain scenes, I found a lot of things that I couldn't get behind.

Anyway, I would love to see your review when you write it!

The requests are at the behest of some staff at a particular university who will pay/arrange the journal submissions- which is perhaps even better. Probably mechademia or the Journal of Japanese Studies.

As for Cinema of Japan, it's not active, it does not have quality content. Neither I or Orion1 have time to do anything much with it. We just feature a different film each week and a different director each month. It is simply a very simple outlet for our love of film and Japanese film. I would like to write about some things, for instance the canon/career/ouvre of Kiyoshi Kurosawa, or the adaptations of Rampo and Kitakata- yet as I stated I have not the time! ;_;

I do believe in the idea that there is an objective truth. However, this objective truth has nothing to do with feelings, 'liking' something, and for a somewhat poor medium like anime/manga, can seem too critical. So it definitely does have its' problems.

Interesting! So it's Studio Khara, then? Will edit my review. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Out of curiosity, if you've seen it, how did you feel about the movie?
ridojiri Mar 25, 2013 3:36 AM
Thanks.
It really is a bit of a chore to rate things, and as you can see I've ended up with a schema that is about an order of magnitude less positive than the average MAL user. And then I also have to try figure out what a[n informed] normal person's rating would be in a review.

To be praised on my reviews by you is lofty bliss indeed.

Like you, I've not had time for writing reviews lately. Actually, I've been asked to write some articles for journals.

That blog you share on film and anime is interesting. You may notice I and Orion1 administrate the Cinema of Japan club- I've always had a passion for film which is only a little less strong than for anime/manga.

One thing I've passively noticed in your writing, is you attribute many things to creators of specific anime/manga that is not entirely pure. By this I mean it kind of shows you have not read, or have only a passing knowledge of, manga from 45'-80'.

hell yeah
Xardie Apr 25, 2012 4:49 AM
LOL

Saber in raincoat is amusing as it is to me. Of course small hats would've made everything even better

I've made some posts in EGF's vidya topic ( http://forum.evageeks.org/post/535740/Video-Games-What-are-you-currently-playing-2/#535740 ) after getting UBW's good end.

I'm still in early days of Heaven's Feel but I don't like the emphasis the route has been placing on "bug noises" so far.... at all.
Xardie Apr 23, 2012 9:59 PM
Finished UBW too.

Welp, that leaves only HF...

>mfw Shirou wastes last Command Spell on stopping Saber instead of powering her up with it to beat Caster's face in
>mfw because of this Caster gets to use Rule Breaker, steal Saber and fuck everything up

SHIIIIROOOOOOUUUUUU YOU DUMB SACK OF SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

gaahhh
