I know someone who got into Pixar without going to college or even finishing high school. He just taught himself a bunch of things and made a portfolio. Nowadays, it's hard to do that because people with college degree's gain more priority over many things. Not completing high school looks really bad on you as well and generally be turned down at first glance. I really do want to become a writer, mainly for manga, because it's very creative and fun. I might not get paid anywhere near as much as a web design (depending on how I do, I could get paid that much) but I would feel more satisfied and would be more willing to continue and put in all the effort I can. I'm not interested in many things at all out in life but just how the world is, things pop up unexpectedly. At first, being a teacher of any kind was one of the last things I wanted to be. Now, with my current position in my part-time job, I love teaching. I have a chance to make someone a better person to themselves and the people around them. I live in the Bay Area in California and although there's a lot of nice people and all, there's a ton of people who have no common sense and feel like that they could look down on anyone or just be disrespectful for their own amusement.

I know some of people who keeps on changing their majors even when they're on their fourth year! Yeah, high school can very, VERY loud in the classroom. Sometimes filled with disrespectful people which gets annoying just to hear them talk so loud when they're right next to each other. In my freshmen year in high school, I chose to pick mostly honors and AP classes just so that I can get away from that kind of environment and hang around with people who are at least a bit respectful to those around them. The work was overwhelming at first since I usually take normal classes and can't learn a thing because of all the noise, but I got the hang of it after a month.
Even with better classroom environment and people, I still didn't feel satisfied. I became bored instantly. I do have a lot of good friends but my whole school is just boring as heck.
The things I have in mind for when I start college would be somewhere in the web design field I guess since I'm doing something like that now and it's interesting and fun. I also feel like being a writer, though, I would love my stories to be in a manga mainly. I might also want to be just a teacher. The part-time job I have now essentially made me become a teacher worthy person. When I pay close attention to how many of my teachers teach students and how they engage in certain situations like a conflict or any question, I could see a lot of flaws and that kind of irritates me. So many paths I could choose, though... @_@

How is it like in college?
Also, is the general education close to how it's like in high school, subject-wise?

Thanks for the kind words! :)
The biggest challenge for what I want to do is probably going to be drawing. I took art class in school for 3 years but I felt like I didn't improve that much. I think at the time it was just to fill in the elective course which at the time I didn't have any kind of motivation to draw anything. When I look at my manga, I just love the art style and everything and I want to be able to do something like that in my own way. I can probably have an easier time with instruments since when it comes to instruments, I somehow pick them up fast.
I think the main problem I have right now is time. When I come home from school, I usually watch anime. Few times I practiced drawing and an hour just flew by quick! It usually feels like that when I become really focus. I'll just have to get drawing and whatever else in my normal routine or at least get my work mood going because when I become productive like washing a bunch of dishes, I end up doing other things around the house.

I've been playing games for so many years. Ever since I was like 5 or 6 when my mom got me a Nintendo 64. It came with this Pikachu game where you can talk to Pikachu to do things but my second game was Quake (don't know exactly which number) for the 64 as well and it's a shooting game and for it's time was probably pretty bloody and I was only 5 or 6 at the time xD. When I play a game I like and I'm willing to put a lot of time into it, I try to play the best I can, either by myself or against others. It just satisfies me to see the work I put in makes me better. Right now, I'm just playing MH4U since I really love that series and I want to spend more time watching anime. My interest in many game series liked are dying down now so I don't care as much about them. Only Nintendo and Capcom's Monster Hunter series is what I'm most interested in for games.

The final I have to take is probably me working in a group and building a website for a client that our teacher is giving us. Not sure if it's the last project but sure sounds like it. I can use what I learned to help customize my anime list which I'm really excited to start doing soon. I won't be going to college next year but mostly the year after because I want to get a full-time job and help my mom out after all these years and I want to get some more work experience. I'm still going to keep my part-time that I have now because I love it so much and the people there are just so cool. I'm also going to start working on a story that I have been thinking about for the past 6 years! I want to make it into a manga but I need to learn how to draw first xD. I also want to play the violin and piano and be able to sing and improve my Japanese. GAAAAAHHHH, there's so much I want to do! I wish I started watching more anime at the start of my high school career because it has been quite boring going home. I started watching a lot of anime near the end of my Junior year and since then, going home has never been so exciting!

I'm really liking this season so far. Found myself getting some good laughs which is actually hard for me to do nowadays :/

FE to me was easy to handle from the start. It's a turn-based system and since I used to play competitive Pokemon a lot, I just used a similar mindset from Pokemon to FE on how I make each choice. When I play games, I just try to grasp as much knowledge of the mechanics and fundamentals as I can. That's how I am with all games and it always works out in the end. I used to play shooting games competitively but it didn't feel as satisfying as playing games like Pokemon, FE, Super Smash Bros., Monster Hunter because of how much you need to think and react in order to win.

Not much goes on with me as of right now. Weekdays is school, go home for a while, work, go home and do whatever and sleep. Weekends is either anime, games (just playing Monster Hunter right now), and maybe Manga. I want to learn a lot of things but I just want to relax since this is my final semester of high school and I only have two classes, with one only requiring me to actually sit and learn.

Yo! Nisekoi season 2 is alive! How are you feeling about this season?

Oh and how is Fire Emblem coming along?
Skarferior Feb 22, 2015 4:59 PM
You don't need to. All the stories are different. Though, some have sequels. Either way, this is its own story. A neat thing about the character conversations is that they will reference A LOT of things about the past Fire Emblem games, mostly the children once you get to that point in the game.
Skarferior Feb 22, 2015 4:39 PM
Yeah, I love the Fire Emblem series, though, I only own Fire Emblem: Awakening. It's such a great strategy game when you play on the hardest difficulty. I also love the series for their story line and characters.

Hello, just looking around for users with similarities to me and I have to say........................ONODERA!
But yeah, nice to meet you.

That's what makes me want to keep watching her. The entire show I was wondering how she'd be at the end. A lot of people I talked to told me Mirai Nikki wasn't very good but I actually really enjoyed it. My favorite character isn't nearly as interesting as Yuno, but he's really good at Karuta (the card game in Chihayafuru) and I just really like him, he "impassionate". Chihayafuru is very much a feel good anime.

Hahaha very punny. I think that's what a pun is at least... and yeah she's crazy but also cute. I have so many conflicting feelings about her haha.
tinyfriedegg Jul 9, 2013 6:23 PM
Woah your favorite character is Yuno, haha nice.
