As with all sitcoms, it depends heavily on your personal tastes. But for me?


But for me? This show is precisely what I've always wanted in an isekai: one that's designed after actual MMOs. Not the stories in an MMO, but the experience of actually playing one with other people.

It's the usual Japanese-person-transported-to-MMO-like-setting, but instead of the usual premise of that the protagonist either being superpowered or having a particular superpower, the protag in Handyman is just... straight-up not good at fighting. No climactic magical boon, no 'minor' ability that turns out life-saving, just a consistently weak protag. Because he's not a fighter, he's a handyman. ...

Mixed Feelings
The first episodes were pretty great, because it featured social awkwardness in a more relatable and more rarely-seen way than the typical "Boy I sure do love shying away from awkward situations" way... but over time, it just turned into exactly that.

Which is to say: give it a go, but be prepared to drop it when you stop enjoying it, because it doesn't get better. Not even for the last episode, which was just... bleh, I didn't even realise it was the end of the series at the time.

Hm, it would have been much easier to give a score for if this wasn't - quite literally - 3 entirely separate parts. Oh well, might as well break them down.

Part 1 is a 5 minute silent 3D animation. You know, the type you'd see at the start of a Pixar movie. One that's clearly just meant to be an animation demonstration rather than trying to tell a story or anything. It's... well, it's certainly on par with big-budget 3D films, but there really isn't anything noteworthy about it.

Part 2 - the main bulk of the film - is 50 minutes long, and it's basically ...
