Lovely. I'd recommend tracking down their live performances, one of them features Tsuioku, something I've listened to before going to sleep myself many, many times. Much as I love the studio song proper, the live one brings me joy.

[there's a second version of the song sung by Machiya and Asa live, I don't mean that one]

Nice. I have my favourites but I love all of 'em.

I've been obsessed with this particular live rendition for weeks, in somewhat unrelated news.

Good, I'm glad you're having fun with it.

How are you liking Maidragons?

Happy New Year!

Well, not like any of this can go on forever.

Gaming-wise? Anime-wise? I just let it all happen as it may. If I don't feel like watching anime for half a year, I won't watch anime for half a year. If I don't feel like picking up more than 1 game per year or any at all, then that's how it is. Shrug.
NoblePhantasm Dec 18, 2018 5:33 AM
Yeah, that'll happen; I stayed away from anime, too, so I had not much reason to hang around here either. I'm mostly alive and mostly well, I suppose.

Hey, hey

How's things?

It comes with my highest recommendation. I had a blast watching it.

I imagine I'm not saying anything new with regards to the game, but I've not read a single other review, so I wouldn't know. I didn't give it its own space, but "convenience" ought to have been on the con list also. It reaches TV show levels in certain cases.

I would have to watch it myself, if I felt like it; playing it would actually require a system upgrade and I'm particularly stubborn about not going through with it.

It's only 'cause Lee was a dickhead to begin with.

Well, I finished season 2 of The Walking Dead, finally. Here are some of my thoughts.

Pros:
- Clementine. Could it be any other way? She's great through-and-through. She's smart, funny, and perhaps hypercompetent for someone her age, but hey, it works. Having control of her is a definite shift in how the game plays and feels sometimes, although it's solid for the most part.
- A handful of high points here and there, in character moments, storytelling proper or certain setpieces. Few and far between, I would argue, but that's for the cons.
- It looks, sounds and plays well enough. I tend not to emphasise technical aspects but I can't entirely overlook the fact that it's competently made.

Cons:
- It just feels like "less" all-around. It's a much shorter game (close to being half the length of the first season by my estimation) which unfortunately leads to less of everything.
- The character interactions are kept to an absolute minimum, I thought. All that time that you could spend bugging everyone with questions in the first season is mostly gone.
- As such, character development is either gone or it feels jarringly abrupt at times. Characters can kind of go through the motions in how they react to you or the situations at hand and some of them are downright idiots.
- The choices feel a tad empty and emotionally disconnected most of the time, one of the reasons certainly being a lack of sympathetic characters. They're also kind of ambiguous, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. I chose the latter.
- All of this is a direct cause of inferior writing, there's no two ways about it. It's just a plain worse-written game, unfortunately.

Conclusions:
It's not a bad-bad game and it was a decent experience, but it doesn't do justice to its predecessor. Clementine is its saving grace. If you don't plan on playing it and you're up for spoilers, here's something amusing.

There's... Other media that's much better than the show and much deeper.

Prison School served its purpose as a silly, silly show and it made me laugh here and there. It was mildly repetitive mostly because of the setting and the small number of characters, but eh.

I am only human and yeah, the show's subpar, but what can ya do.

Will do.

Nonstop climax... I would imagine it would be fun. Right, the game.
